One of the problems is if you are driving parking is not only limited because of the small parking lot but traffic can make it difficult to get in and out of the parking lot.
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times, the staff is always polite and professional and it is guest friendly they simply check the chicas cedula before you retire to your room. You can also book your reservation for 2 persons to avoid any issue.
They have basic rooms with single or double beds a junior suite and a major suite. The rooms start at about $65.00 a night depending on what web site you use to book. I got a junior suite and I was very pleased with the room size it was very comfortable. The complaint I had was the WIFI was spotty so I had to use my Orange hotspot.

There is a mini bar in the refrigerator complete with soft drinks & snacks which you pay for upon your departure.
Manolo's Restaurant
Both the hotel and restaurant are under the same ownership.

It is an open air restaurant you can either sit on the street or inside the restaurant. Also the hotel room service comes from the restaurant. Below is a list of the complimentary breakfast menu.

Of course you can order a regular breakfast but you have to pay. I ate dinner a couple of nights. The below plate was mero con papas saltiada y enselada. Normally I pay around 500 pesos for this meal but I paid just under 1000 pesos at Manolo's. The food is good but it's on the high end.

Since it is an open air restaurant when it's raining it can be cool but when it's hot you get a decent breeze. You also have to be ok with all the traffic on Avenida Independencia it can be quite noisy.
Conclusion
The Riazor Hotel is centrally located and easy to find, it is very clean and the staff is professional and courteous. Manolo's Restaurant can be expensive but the food and the service are very good. I can recommend both if you will be in Santo Domingo for a visit.

Yeah, I stayed here a couple times back in the day. This hotel was pretty popular on the site around 2005, 2006, 2007. I'm glad to see it's still getting good reviews. Are the bars with the chicas still around for take out? And there used to be chicas that walked that street at night. Are chicas still out there??

That's been over for years now.
I love Manolo and any night that I'm in town I can be spotted sitting at the terrace part at midnight sipping cappuccino and working a slice of cheesecake. That just became a habit 11 years ago from when I used to take a break there on my Ave. Independencia cat house crawls.
Back in the day, before the renovation the seating was much lower, right at the same level as the sidewalk and Ho's used to walk right up to the railing and offer a bared titty for desert, the street was teeming with freelancers. That's all been cleared out and the Ho's are mostly working the malecon again, a block away. The bus stop across the street was a great place to meat & greet. The Jaragua, across the street used to jump every night with live bands and scores of Ho's looking for a $200 windfall from the occasional unsuspecting business traveler.
Manolo's club sandwich was perfect for soaking up excess booze late at night.

Stayed here a few times. The only issue is that you can only bring one chica at time upstairs. No happy hours..... :icontd:

3 day stay at Hotel Riazor
I had a visit at the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo so I decided to take a vacation from my vacation and stay in Santo Domingo for a few days. There are many hotel options in Santo Domingo but Hotel Riazor has become one of my favorites. I had a pretty decent room
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144178&stc=1http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144179&stc=1
The cable stations in Santo Domingo have more English channels than in Puerto Plata. Although I have cable at home I don't watch very much American TV it was interesting to watch CNN "FAKE NEWS" again...haaaaaaaaaa!

I enjoyed my room and discovered it was better to run the fan than the sir-conditioner which made the room feel like a freezer. I did have problems with the spotty WIFI which was on and off consistently.

This room had a balcony

This was the first time I had a room with a balcony. It was very small and the view was nothing to brag about unless you like crazy traffic on Avenida Indepencia.

Manolo's next door is my favorite Santo Domingo restaurant but can be kinda expensive. They have a mero dinner for 700 pesos same dinner in Puerto Plata is 500 pesos ...go figure.
Light breakfast is included
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144201&stc=1
Dinner one night I had pollo guisado and another night pollo con ajo
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144202&stc=1http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144203&stc=1
I had a decent stay
My bill for 3 days was just under $200.00 but that included my mini bar items which I took a few...ooooooooops...lol! There was no problems with chicas they make a copy of the cedula at the front desk and whala.
I like Hotel Riazor and Manolo's I am sure I will be back.

Camero
Have you tried Villar Hermanos, which I think is across the street or down the block (Indep. & Pasteur). It has a buffet style bakery/coffee house on the corner and a sitdown rest. next door. I found it to be great food at an inexpensive price. Great to bring back to the hotel
