Hotel reviews: Costalunga and Candil
Costalunga Residence
http://www.costalunga.net/HOME.html
Avenida del Sur #3
A/C, wifi, safe
$40/night
costalunga@codetel.net.do (Mario Pigozzi 809-5451309)
- bad: no front desk or people to help (paperwork is done in the internet cafe)
- bad: noisey on the street side (why I moved)
- bad: 2 dark blocks from the center of the action
- good: big room; kitchenette
- good/bad: no wifi; you can connect in the internet cafe via wire (which they will provide) for free; so it's a good connection but not as convenient as in your room

809-523-4252 / 4253
just around the corner from Costalunga
$45?/night (just a little more than Costalunga)
- bad: 2 dark blocks from the center of the actiona
- bad: I had to sit in the doorway to balcony to get wifi reception
- bad: the key is on a huge wooden fish to make you turn it in at the desk when you go out
- good: nice, big airy sitting room
- good: kitchenette
Re: Hotel reviews: Costalunga and Candil
Any updates on Costa Lunga and El Candil?
On Costa Lunga website it says they have wi-fi, not sure if it is in-room wi-fi.
Seems like there is no AC in standard rooms or studios at El Candil, only in apartments ($58)
Costa Lunga is closer to Duarte and seems better value for money. The only problem can be
street noise as mentioned at previous post.
Re: Hotel reviews: Costalunga and Candil
WiFi only in lobby of Costalunga.

Anyone stayed at the Costalunga Hotel lately, a review of your stay would be appreciated. I use to stay there before I discovered sosua. Now the airfare is driving me back to SDQ, POP is getting outrageous.
