I opted for the Pool Suite which I thought was a very attractive room and a novel idea. I have stayed in many hotel rooms but never a hotel room with a pool. The pool has lights for illumination at night and seemed to be about 3 feet. Since the pool is small it was more for wading than swimming, off course if you desire to swim you could use the outdoor pool.
I wondered if the pool might have been a Swimex, or an Endless Pool, with a big recirculating pump to create a current for you to swim against. I think that might have been appropriate, at a hotel that seems to be placing itself as a Canyon Ranch style spa.

The architecture of all of the suites is very modern but the challenge I had was the bathrooms are open and not separated by a door for privacy.

Did the indoor pool has any jet streams so it can be a jacuzzi?

They were not Jacuzi jet streams that made bubbles but they were smaller jets found in most pools. I was told they were necessary to keep the water and pool chemicals circulating.

Do the snozzberries taste like snozberries?:rofl:
Good option to stay in an all inclusive for those that can take advatage of what is offered at Ahmvee.
Good to hear the opinion from multiple people who have actully stayed there and experienced the services.
Good report.

Ahnvee Part 2
I returned to Ahnvee in part because I wanted to try the Asian restaurant they have on property and also because I wanted to sample their penthouse room. Recently they had a all inclusive 2 day stay for the price of one.
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144763&stc=1
The penthouse room is the top of the line for the Ahnvee property and the room rents for $260.00 per night. With the special I got 2 nights for $130.00 per night all inclusive. I went with my novia and we ate 2 times the first day, 4 times the second day and breakfast before we left. We ate 7 times in 2 days and had the best room on the property IMHO I got a good deal.

Restaurants Part 2
Below I have listed the on site restaurants
Crave Steak House
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144764&stc=1http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144765&stc=1
Crave is next to the office as you enter the property and is available for guest and is open to the public. There is a public entrance and an entrance from the resort property. The menu includes steaks and lobster. I had the rib eye steak twice which was very good. My meal was included but the menu price for the public was 2000 pesos. Crave is open from 6pm -11pm reservations only.
Stix Asian Fusion Lounge & Roam
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144766&stc=1
Both Stix Asian restaurant and Roam are on property next to the outdoor pool. Stix is upstairs at the top of the steps and they serve the traditional Asian dishes. Stix is open from 6pm -11pm reservations only.
Roam is downstairs and is a 24 hour café which basically serves breakfast, and light foods like hamburgers and fries. Roam has menu items and sometimes has a buffet also.

Food Continued
I really enjoyed everything but I was very impressed with the Asian restaurant. I do not particularly care for Asian food but I had some sweet and sour pork that was absolutely delicious and some kind of cake type dessert I forgot the name with ice cream which was good also.
I ate at the steak house again and had the same rib eye I had before. The flavor was very good and it simply was too much meat for me as I could not finish. For dessert this time I tried their chocolate cake which was very good also.
The food was one of the premier reasons for my stay and I was not disappointed.

Hard to beat that deal. How many people were staying there?

Thursday it seemed like we were the only people on the property but Friday it was busier maybe a dozen people mostly Dominican.
The proprietor says most of the traffic is on the weekends.

i have been passed there a couple times since i have been here and it did not appear like there are to many people staying there but my vantage point was from the outside and it doesn't always tell the story
Re: 03/2017 - Camaro's view of Ahnvee Resort, Sosua
I like a good ribeye but at 2000rd i am not all that interested
makes you think that all though they have opened the restaurant to the public they really dont want them there so they keep a premium price on the food
i can go alot of places elsewhere and get a pretty good steak for under $40
i just have my limits for a good piece of meat
same thing with a chica

in comparison a ribeye at scotch and sirloin is
1400 rd. This one is 14oz
not sure how they compare in the quality of the meat
i decided to have pizza tonight
what i really notice at all these restaraunts i have been at is not a single one has more than a handful like less than 10 customers at any one time or like 10% occupancy
how they keep the doors open is beyond me

Penthouse Suite
I enjoyed the penthouse suite. It is 2 stories but we only used the bedroom but it was nice to have a downstairs available if we wanted.
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144782&stc=1http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144783&stc=1http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144784&stc=1http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144785&stc=1
I have a similar concern here as with the other rooms. The bathroom is not separated by a barrier so when you use the sink and shower you can be seen if you are in the bedroom. The toilet is shielded in this room but the basic room the toilet is not shielded.
My date did not seem to be uncomfortable with the bathroom set up this time as we have a very healthy intimate relationship but the first time we went we were on the front end and she was reluctant to let me see her naked bathing etc.
I can see how the bathroom set up could be a problem for some couples.

The bed looks ok but the room as a whole looks uncomfortable

Bedroom continued
The bedroom has a section for a massage chair
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144787&stc=1
And Jacuzzi
http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144788&stc=1http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...d=144789&stc=1
Overall the bedroom was very spacious with an open air feel and the only items were the bed, tv , massage chair and Jacuzzi. There also was an open closet to hang clothes. It had a loft design which I found very comfortable.
One thing I would have liked would have been curtains over the Jacuzzi window, the light could be bothersome if you were trying to sleep during the day.

I was told the same thing, when I visited, no problem bringing chicas in and out, which if true brings the cost down considerably. Don't know how that would work, especially with the amenities
