Shit and I thought I had it bad there last week when I was getting a low of 28-1.
Incredible still is that the prices for EVERYTHING down there has not gone down but has either remained the same or gone up.
90 pesos for a pequena in Classico......130 pesos for a Corona in Domino...225 pesos for an Antipasto appetizer in Isla Bonita pizzeria.....I would be embarassed to tell you what I paid for a seafood dinner in Cabarete.....it is getting out of control.....
Prices will change when a vendors total revenue decreases to below break even. Could take a while, depending on how much economic pain a vendor can endure.
What is the rate fluctuation with the Canadian $, the pound, DM, lira, franc, etc? This figures into the overall picture.
I love chica logic: the rate goes down, so their prices go up to compensate. I guess Adam Smiths Law doesn't apply to DR whores...
imho...when you see them rioting in SD and Santiago and burning tires in the street, obstructing traffic and fighting with the soldiers and police again...That's the surest indicator that the peso is goin' to rise against the dollar AND prices are going to change! :evil:Quote:
