Good place and worth it. Just play it cool, low key and goes well. Does not hurt to buy something while there. I must add a fellow board member enlightened me on this place years ago.
Besides the amusement, this board really does give back so much.

A few give a lot. But so many just take and take. It's a shame.

Sometimes the small one by the beach doesn't have change earlier in the day, but the big one on the main road always does. I will use a guy in the street before I will use the cambio across from Rhumba, they always gave hundred pesos less at night but this new scam is much worse.
The only problem with Playero is that you can only change 100 bucks. Plus you have to purchase something in order for them to change it for you.

They may ask for a copy of your passport, not always.
Patrick's Silversmith? I've bought a good few hundred dollars' worth of jewelry from him, as Christmas gifts for the ladies in my extended family!

Maybe they changed their policy. The last time I was in there, you could only change 100 bucks and they required that you purchase something first.
