The ride is best done during daylight hours. The plane is flying at around 3,000' and offers a beautiful, close-up look at the Dominican South Coast, flying so low that you can identify the cars on the road below you (red Forerunner, blue Explorer, etc). I have taken that bus before and it was a pleasant enough ride(s) but when I got there I wanted my half a day back. 35 minute flight, hotel to airport, airport to airport and airport to hotel in just over an hour.
Yes that does not sound too bad at all. I did enquire about a taxi, their first price from bavaro to boca chica was $175 but as I was the lone ranger dropped to $125. Would not be much quicker than the bus though. I just had this as a backup in case the bus plan went to pot for some reason. But very reliable. They do recommend you get there an hour before departure to ensure you get a seat as it did fill up both ways.
Yep lost the best part of of the day because of the journey although the first leaves at 7:00am for early birds.

Outstanding! I've visited in 2012 and 2013 and everything you've written is very exact. I'm planning a trip in 2014 and will definitely visit Veron's Car Wash. I read it was better than the one in Friusa. I will load the pictures soon

Re: Mongering in Punta Cana
Here are more pics from my 2013 tour. All local girls, $50 max at car wash and bavaro plaza bar. The best time to visit the car wash is 8pm to about 2am, during the day you can get a waitress for takeout. For Bavaro plaza, after 2am was our best hunting period, the chicas were ready to GO! No more than $50. See www.inpuntacana2012.com for free contact information from chicas all over DR, and to plan your next trip.

Sitting wherever I like? My favorite seat in a plane is the left front seat, "Captain's Class" ... but it's been a while, and I let go of keeping a current medical. All the same, I prefer having a control yoke and a panel full of instruments in front of me, rather than the back of some yahoo's seat. Even in the clouds ... scanning the instruments, talking to Air Traffic Control, and keeping the wings level and the bird on course, is a whole lot more fun than sitting in the back seats staring at the wingtips.
Wonder if boarding with my wings on my hat would earn me the RIGHT front seat?
