10/2015 - POP airport

I have been told by a very reliable source that Aerodom the operators of Puerto Plata airport have sold the airport and it's whole operation to GrupoPuntaCana who run Punta Cana airport.

Apparently GrupoPuntaCana see this as a quicker way to increase passenger capacity into the DR.

The hope would be that the current excessive landing fees, Avgas jet fuel prices etc that Aerodom charge will now fall into line with those charged at Punta Cana airport which should result into cheaper tickets into POP.

Time will tell.
