06/2016 - Hotel Shakey, Santo Domingo
Hotel Shakey, Santo Domingo
Hotel Shakey is located on Avenida Pasture in between Avenida George Washington and Avenida Indepencia. It is a good centrally located spot with casas and restaurants within walking distance.

Although this is a hotel the rooms are set up like apartments with a kitchen area, dinning room area and living room area with a bedroom and a public bathroom and bathroom in the master bedroom. The kitchen was cool but there was no conventional oven nor was there a microwave over for heating up your food.

The staff was great although some do not speak English. I did have a few complaints, there is a private garage but it is very small and I have a big SYV so it was difficult to maneuver. The absence of a microwave means you can't heat up leftovers unless you put them on the stove. Finally I got hit with the IBITS tax which after 3 days was pretty steep.
Over all I enjoyed the experience, the location, it was quiet the facility is immaculate and I felt like I was home when I was there.

The rates vary depending on the apartment I have attached a link for those who are interested. The hotel is chic friendly the chica simply has to have a cedula they make a copy and return it to her.

I stayed at Shakey for two days back in 2012 and it was a perfect mongering location. I got a Sea view room which was just above the pool at the Crowne Plaze and offered a Perv's eye view.
They were very strict about the cedula/ passport rule which I liked and it's a stones throw away from the casas and there is a never ending parade of Ho's on the malecon. I spotted one from my balcony and invited her up for some fun...too easy. The casa Chicas have an easy 1 block walk so I gave them my # and whoever got there 1st won, no salida.
Sky High, Girl House and the hotel where they moved the Lapsus Ho's to were literally right next door.
Shakey with a vouch!
