I don't see why you would. I always have fun at Cristals, though I rarely session there. I like to take newbies there to see the look on their faces when they get swarmed by the toto stampede. I sit there, get a few lapdances, drink a few beers, and get a bunch of cell #s for future reference. I used to always go at around 11pm on Friday night. And I never had any problems finding 7s, 8s, and even the occasional 9.

Then again, I haven't been to Cristals since fall of '09. Still, it would have to have taken a serious turn for the worse these last couple of years for me to write it off.

Not uncommon at all for smaller bars.

Hell, spend more than 15 minutes in GBP in Santo Domingo, and the colmado kid will come in with a six pack of Presidente.

Keeps their finances available for more important things......

Luz Marie had a great tenant in Frank but when the lease was up she wanted triple the rent. Luz Marie has her son managing? the bar. I haven't been in there in three years. I had heard he was charging more for "gringos". I had two guys with me so I ask what he charged for a Grande before I ordered. He said 200 pesos. I knew the Dominicans in there would not have been there at a 200 peso Grande. I knew they paid 90 pesos at the time. Told him we were leaving unless he charged us the same, he said no so leave. We did.

I remember once going to a Sosua restaurant which had been recommended for their breakfasts. Had to wait for quite a while for the waitress to go to the mini Playero to buy two eggs. Worst part was they were playing russian pop music while I waited.
