Frugal guys serve several purposes.
They're a vital part of the chain for point-n-click monger destinations.

Secondly, frugal guys help keep prices in check. If everyone was willing to pay 3500 TLN, the fuglies would insist on 2500 TLN. They know they're not as hot, but they think they're hotter than they are and wouldn't price themselves too much below what the hot ones are getting.
Without enough frugal guys to keep the balance, what you basically get is what (purportedly) happened to Costa Rica as a monger destination. That was before my time, but plenty of guys here can give you more details on that.

I paid what I believed to be the going price or stated a price I was willing to pay. To every rule there are exceptions but, for the most part, this is the direction I took. For a 1st or 2nd timer, I'd still recommend negotiating up front.

Guys, i am a newbie thinking about going to DR or CR in June. i have been doing my mongering in asia for the past few years. i have to say what i've been reading about some of the drama that can go on with these chicas makes me question is it worth it? i've never encounter any problems with chicas in thailand or pi where i usually go, on the contrary for the most part they were trustworthy and definitely sweet, especially once they were alone with you. as far as negotiating in ac you just just tell them what you want and if they'll do it, pay the bar fine which is already set by the bars between 1300-1500 pesos, model types 1800-4000. thailand is the same as far as pricing. there's no negotiating price, and though it rarely happens, if the chicas in ac didn't perform as promised you can go back to the bar and complain to the mamasan. you don't need to bring your game, although i truly want to experience latino chicas, i don't want to go anywhere where i need my game, i get enough of that and drama in the states. as much as i would like to check DR or CR, after reading some of these post i'm having second thoughts. if i do go to either i think the mps or strip clubs might be it for me. i don't know what do you guys think???

I agree that you are more likely to encounter after-the-fact price arguments in the DR or CR than in Thailand or the Philippines. But I wouldn't necessarily say that it is racial or cultural. Perhaps it is due to the fact that bar fines are more prominent than in SEA, as well as the fact that the girls are more likely to work for the bar.
I would say a streetwalker in Bangkok is more likely to cause such problems than a Passions girl in Sosua. The price is already set!

It really depends what your looking for. I just hang out and if i see a chica that i like, i watch her a bit. Is she having fun, or standing there with a frown on her face? then i call her over and hang out with her for a few minutes, if she passes the first few minutes i ask her if she wants a drink. At this point ive pretty much chosen her and its her job to lose. I wont ask her to stay over until im sure i want her to. If she asks how much right away, i make her tell me how much she wants for all night. If she quotes me a ridiculous price i walk away and im done with her. i used to never negociate before hand but it is necessary these days. I used to go a whole vacation without being asked once how much i was going to pay, and never had a problem in the morning when i handed over 1500 or 2000 pesos.
If your just going to grab a girl, bring her back to your room and bang her you don't know what you are getting. way to many stories of screaming girls throwing shit and busting up guys belongings because they want $200 for 15 minutes work. It pays to screen your prospect, if you never do it, its a given you will have a few problems over the course of your stay. DON'T tell any chica its your first time in the DR because they will likely try something. It's not really your game you need to bring, you need to know how to act like your the man and she is the woman. Thats the way her culture is so thats what she will understand. Tell dont ask and don't act like a deer in the headlights and you will be fine. you've mongered before so you should be able to handle it. And don't get in any trouble or fight with a Dominican, ever. You have to stand up for your self without fighting in this place, If i have any trouble i just stand my ground and don't get aggressive. It might sound like a lot but it is really all in the way you carry yourself.

Good post I agree completely, although I am somewhat of softy on price as I'll give a fine looking chica with a fun carefree attitude who I believe will give great service closer to 2-3k for TLN
