08/2018 - DR slang -> mol
Ok it is hard enough not speaking Spanish, and a lot of the chicas are not educated, so when they type in whatsapp they type how they speak.
So my question is what is the word "mol" what does that translate to in Spanish and English.
peace,
realkewl
Re: 08/2018 - DR slang -> mol
moi or more. amor
bn. bien
ola- hola
pa. para
eso. esto
klk. que lo que
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Re: 08/2018 - DR slang -> mol
It's not just the D.R. Que lo que = Ni ninni in Swahili.
Makes the same amount of no sense. Ask somebody "habari gani" (What's happening?) and you will get "Mambo" (things).
Lazy language has no home.

More often than not, I refrain from answering to the question. I try my best to write/message in the correct form......the way I'm learning it.
That bs stuff gets a 'que?' (Or similar) 99.9% of the time. Unless I'm being lazy too :rofl:

They are experts at the shortest of abbreviations; we are experts at the longest responses due to the way we were raised. I always get a kick out of the way our conversations look.
I too refrain from answering ABC (see what I did there?) .
Both of my new girls are 'K ace" types and they are always curious to know if I'm doing something where I could conceivably include them.
Note: ABC - a veces (sometimes)

They don't understand the correct form.

I speak English, kinda but I'm somewhat functional in the Latin languages and am learning Swahili and Luo. My goal is to learn Arabic which appears to be the language of North Africa and the entire Mediterranean and the East African Coast.
I listen to Swahili and Luo music to reinforce what I have learned through immersion. I don't have any natural talent for language, so I have to work harder than most for it and when I don't get a chance to speak often I lose ground and have to adjust my ear when I get back. I have a Board of Regents diploma in French after 3 years of study, worked in Geneva, Montreal and Paris and still struggle when speaking with Haitians or West African Francophones in their native tongue. I will say this, it's worth the trouble :biggrin:

Your English is as good as anyone's. Have you managed to work your way through Crio? It's like abbreviated French and I understand most of what I read but to hear it spoken, I can't make the connection.
ou pral fè sa ki mal = vous allez dans le mauvais sens
