Dominican Curfew

I haven't been to the DR since last summer and wanted to get an update on the curfew. Is it still the case that all the places serving liquor close at midnight or 1am, except for Sosua where the closing times are 2am or 3am? Is the casino disco in Sosua still open til like 5am?

Just want to confirm whether the curfew is still in effect and if the times are the same? I've been hoping that they'd come to their senses and drop the curfew. If everything's the same, I might pass on another DR trip.

The curfew is still in force. With the exception of a few places like the casinos and clubs in the all inclusives.

Bars in Cabarete can stay open until 3am.
Hexenkessel is open 24/7 but no alcohol served after 3am.

discos were open till WELL past 2 on Friday and Saturday (sat morning/sunday morning) and then the big move to "After One" until the sun came up . . .

The new curfew that just went into effect this week says that all chicas must be off the street and in my bed by 2:30 AM.

Sun-Thurs, close at 1:30am. Fri and Sat it was 3am. After One disco open well past 5am.

We were having a drink at Yellow Beards about 30 minutes ago when a police van pulled up. I ask what time were the bars to close at on Sunday to Thursday.
He told me that the closing time was 2am each night.

Now this may change after the election but for now all the local bars in the small towns have a 2am closing curfew. We'll see what happens after the election.
