Same experience here with Jesus about a year ago....
Plus, my last trip he didn't show up at the airport. Granted, there was a hurricane, but had this been my first trip I never would have found the Palace.....

dont forget guys... sometimes when he is picking up a carload from the airport for $10-$15 a head he is dropping off a couple of guys as well some of the time... so he is making a pretty penny... no wonder he always smiles and chuckles while he is talking

I know it's kinda your own fault if you overpay, BUT with a guy like Jesus, who is the designated Palace taxi driver, I think you should be able to expect not to be scammed.......

A TAXI FROM POP AIRPORT is $15/TAXI....NOT PER PERSON!

You know what, it's your own fault if you overpay!
Like anything else in the country, you have to know what something costs.
Then you have to establish the price before services are rendered. The price of a cab is on a 6 foot X 6 foot sign right outside the doors of the airport. It's $15 period per carload! If you are adventurous to get on a plane to a third world country, get a fucking map off of the internet to the palace.

Even if you are lurking, all this has been said before and its your own fault.

So if I arrive at the airport and two other guys that I dont know arrive and he takes us all back to different hotels stops off to let me change money then helps me in with my bags and waits till i get my room at one ocean... then charges me $10 and the other guys $15... am i really getting ripped off....?

speaking of getting ripped off... i think we should start with the discos charging 70-90 pesos for a small presidente or 200 pesos for a bailys that i bought a girl i was with... thats fucking $6... or a barcelo costing about 140 pesos the bottles cost 130 at Super Super for the anejo... whats the deal with that... or how about restaurants like Maura Mai charging in fucking dollars and you paying $20-30 for a nice fish dinner there... or paying $12 for a chicken sandwich at PJ's... this island is starting to cost more and more for everything... good thing im starting to get 500 peso chicas
