Cheap accommodations for a week in Santiago?

I will be staying from Sept 6 - Sept 13. I am looking for something average and cheap. $40 a nite max. Any recommendations?

    Good question calvin.

I would like to know as well.

I stayed at the Hotel Gran Almirante which is a very nice hotel. But it cost around $150 USD per night. At this hotel, there is a casino and a hot bartender (Angela) who works there. She has long dark hair to her shoulders and is around 5'6" tall. She is a very openminded girl.

I stayed at one of the cabanas for 1,200 pesos per night (this was back in 2006). It was run by the Chinese. I stayed at a "jungle" room. You can choose among a few fantasy rooms.

The rooms were clean and the showers were excellent (the water pressure was strong). The A/C was cool and the TV had a porn channel. lol

In Santiago, there is an area where these high-end cabanas are located. A cab driver will know where they are.

The Colonial hotel has a new building next to the old 2 they already had. Newer rooms for about $30 a night but pretty basic, still a ggod value close to the Monument and colonial area.

The Colonial also feeds you a free hearty breakfast in the morning. Well, at least they used to.
