PUERTO PLATA BEACH HOTEL, A GOOD ALTERNATIVE

that originally all inclusive hotel is now operating as condominum and town hotel. one nigh 1.000 pesos per ROOM, very nice rooms, decent service, nice surroundings, right on the malecon (the beach promenade), walking distance to long beach, where the action and crystal is. beware of chulos with knifes there...

Its run down and there is no current info. Try Field of Dreams if interested in Puerto Plata area.

How close is Field of Dreams to the beach (walking distance)? I hear it's just outside of Playa Dorado. Is Playa Dorado's beach private, or would I be allowed to chill there?

Tourists are allowed into the public beach area. You can walk from F o D's or take a taxi cheaply.

    Have stayed there before

I stayed here my first 2 trips and, as Jimmydr said, it's run down. On the plus side, it had central air and good water pressure. I also paid off the security 2 hundred pesos to get a chica in from Crystal's. However, I wouldn't stay again, unless I was in a pinch.
