I love chica logic: the rate goes down, so their prices go up to compensate. I guess Adam Smiths Law doesn't apply to DR whores...
:?: Umm.. sorry RD but the DM, lire and franc have been replaced by a brand new currency.. it's called the Euro.. currently trading at around 1.29 dollar to the euro... you might have heard about it.. :P

    Of course.

But the Euro has differing degrees of buying power within each country.

I was trying to point out that members of this board are not the only ones which can affect the pricing structures in the DR.

    1 US Dollar = 29.08000 Dominican R. Peso
1 Dominican R. Peso (DOP) = 0.03439 US Dollar (USD)

    Median price = 27.00000 / 29.08000 (bid/ask)
    Minimum price = 24.94000 / 26.05900
    Maximum price = 27.00000 / 29.08000

Agreed! The EUR-guys get a sucker deal in the DR.. I always get pesos from the AT-machine and change to dollars if I need them..

I never change Euro's in DR. They fuck you on the rate. The rate from the machine is a LOT better.
I get some dollars here in Holland to pay the hotel there and all the other pesos come from the ATM.
I should do some calculations to see if it is worth it to just get dollars and exchange those to pesos.
The dollar is like 1.30 to the euro now, could be worth it.....

Beas, going 1/13 to 1/25. Hope i got good infomation for getting that many pesos. Like you say was told by a few business owners that they do not see dollar making a comeback till after like you said Feb or March. Hope my gamble pays off.
