taxi cab fare?

is about 1000 pesos a good universal rate to your hotel from the airport in Santo Domingo? when traveling around town is 150 pesos a good rate to take you one way to most places within town? Is it better to get one good taxi driver and just stick with him? could you guys share some of your most econmical ways of getting around the DR without renting a car?

was gonna ask this question myself.

From POP to Sosua it's usually $20-$25
From STI to POP $50-$80 <<I've never paid $80 but I've heard people paid that much.
Never been to SDQ but will be on this trip, I figured I'd pay $20
