I usually visit Boca Chica in the weekend because many more girls hang out in the beach. The weekdays are too quiet.

How far is Boca Chica from SDQ? Is it better to drive around there or use cabs?

Like Jimmy has said, it takes around 30 minutes by car.
I recommend that you go by car (rental car). Cabs are too expensive.
There is a bus that goes to Boca Chica but it takes too much time and is a hassle.
Saturday and Sunday afternoons are very good times to go to Boca Chica.

Go by car... when you're on the highway there's a couple of turn-off that will lead you to the beach...
The first goes right through Andres, towards the 'Dominican' side of the beach (I enjoy it there much more but you'd really have to be Dominican to blend in), the second goes straight towards Boca Chica beach, where pussy is packed on the beach from 13:00 till sundown.. just walk around and you'll do fine

From SDQ to BOCA CHICA by car is ten minute's top's not 30 min about 30 to go to el conde...........

I was gonna say, but didnt want to sound like a wise ass.
From the Capital(say the Jaragua) to Boca Chica is like half hour or 45 mins tops, and SDQ is on the way there, no ? so it cant be that far.

I thougt I remember it being like halfway there, but apparantly it is only a third or so.

Google Earth is the best shit ever invented.
Pan East of Boca Chica to Guayacanes and Juan Dolio. Now that's where you go to the beach. Boca Chica has got so many vendors that they're bumping into one another, selling everything from pedicures to great big wooden framed paint by number pictures to some shit they found in the surf. Why in the fuck would anyone buy a souvenir at the beach that's too big to carry on the plane? A guy tried to sell me a box of (fake Habanos) cigars for $80 (US). Every manner of scam artist will approach you and don't even think about taking a nap while sunning or you'll wake up naked and broke. It's the kind of place where you just get tired of saying "no....no...No...No!...NO Mothafucka!!!" and that's before you even get to the putas.
The only time I like BC is right after it rains and the vendors are all gone. The pussy running around Boca Chica ranges from undocumented to scary. I get my sand in Santo Domingo and then take it to the beach.

A month or two ago they closed a group of 3 or 4 restaurants on the beach (I think due to title problems).
Have they re-opened?

Actually if this is a marketing ploy for the restaraunt I think it would go over a lot better if the name of the restaraunt was included in the pic. I think I've eaten there before and from what I remember the food was pretty good. We were in a party of six and at the end of the meal the manager brought us a 1/2 litre of Brugal Anejo with which I mixed with coconut water and got my Chica drunk on the ride back to Sto. Dgo. and was rewarded with some sloppy drunk sex (this is what made that restaraunt a memorable experience). I'd previously never seen her drink more than a glass of wine and after that I understood why....low booze tolerance
If it is the same restaraunt another outstanding occurrence of that afternoon was a kid asking us for a dollar. We were seated at a table near the wooden railing which separated the restaraunt patio from the side street (alley) which lead to the beach area from the street and this kid just walks over and starts asking everybody for a dollar. He had a fresh haircut and was well dressed and clean so there was no chance of him evoking sympathy from any of us and after a chorus of "NO"s he walked about 30' away when his cell phone went off and he pulled a "Razor" phone out of his pocket and answered it.Ths was back in 2006 when that phone cost a couple hundred dollars in the States.
Back to my original point....if the initial post is not about the restaraunt, but an ad for Presidente or vino tinto it could have been more artfully crafted.

The restaurant in the pic is the "Porco Rosado", Italian restaurant on the left at the main entry of the beach.
Good food even if the service is sometimes very very slow. Like 45 mns for bacon and eggs ...
