    Hotel Platino

This hotel is just what Santiago needed. Centrally located 2 minutes of the last exit on the Pista Duarte, the Platino is new, stylish, guest friendly, clean, secure and reasonable. It will cost you about $30 us per night for a standard room and $50 for a deluxe suite complete with your own computer, internet access and a clear view of the Monument.

If you plan on having company, add an additional $400 pesos when you register so that you can take your guest right in without any questions. Located less than ten minutes from Passions, Ilusions, Casino Matums, The Monument, Montezumas, Plaza Gomez Diaz Carwash, McDonalds, KFC and Casino Almirate, Platinos is perfectly situated and will save you major $$ on transportation.

    Hotel Platina Nice but small

Stayed at the Hotel Platina June 17-20. Its a nice hotel across the street from a university named PUCC. I think thats the name. Anyway, I like the fact that the hotel was quiet and clean. I did not like the fact that the standard rooms were so small. Paid about $37.00 US for me and g/f. I would stay there again and receommend it, although I would try to get a bigger room. Located about 10 mins for the monument and the central of Santiago. By the way, its not like Sosua where you can walk around. I rented a car and drove everywhere. All in all....good hotel....go there. Email me with any questions.

I keep forgetting to get the prices too. Couple additional notes about the Hotel Platino.

It is located on Av. Estrella Sadhalá across the street from PUCMM - Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre Y Maestra. Just a bit north of the entrance to PUCMM on the west side of the street. It is located off the street and the entrance is flanked by two two-story strip malls. The pavement is red brick. If you still can't find it, not sure how you even got to the DR then.

There is a Verizon store with internet access in the mall, also a dry cleaners.

Next door to the south is a car wash (don't get excited) the pickings are slim and they don't "hire" chicas to hang out there. I go there for Orange Juice in the morning and Presidentes when waiting at the hotel for a ride. To the north past a car dealership is a 24 hour restaurant. Again slim pickings but decent food.

    1. Grab a brochure, many cabbies don't know the hotel but there's a rough map on the back.
    2. It's a nice place so if you're doing a "Happy Hour" go get a cabana!

As mentioned before the standard room is small, think dorm room with private bath and double bed. Now there is a bonus, the room is made for exhibitionists and voyeurs! The closets have mirrored doors!

The double room is nice, about the size of a standard 2 double bed US hotel room with 2 double beds (one for fucking, one for sleeping).

The jr. suite rooms have a nice queen/king bed and a little entry way, I guess blocks the noise.

Room 324 (iirc), you can just ask for the internet room, has a computer and flat screen. That is the only room with internet access. Also note the bed is on wheels, careful you might end up on the other side of the room. (Note: the closet doesn't face the bed in this room)

All rooms have a mini fridge (not bad prices) and a wet bar. Jr. Suites, Suites, & Net room have hot plates.

    Enjoy your stay!

I stayed near there and taxis are very cheap maybe $2 to go to Monument.

The Hotel has plenty of parking, an onsite restaurant and a small cake with internet access. I thought for the price the rooms were a bit small.

I saw that construction site for the Marriott. Not a lot of action! Might be a while before that thing is up and running!
