    Tux Rental in the DR

Does any know of, or can recommend, a place to rent a tuxedo in Santo Domingo? Is it even possible?

I will be down for a wedding in March and will need a tux in a hurry - arrive on Thursday - wedding on Saturday, so I may need to contact them in advance, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're in the bridal party you should already have your tux. If not, why bother?

Geez.... you guys are brutal.... It's not me getting married... I just get down that way alot and enjoy the women. Thought you guys may have ran into this situation beore.

If my friend wants to get married there, I think, "Hell... another excuse to go".

Tux before hand may be the way to go...

    Hi there

Bring a tuxedo from the States. It's better to go to the DR all prepared and ready.

rent a tux there for $30 US. Much cheaper but if you are bigger than size 40 waist you will have to buy one in a store for $50 or $100 still better than here, and shoes are only $30. there

Re: Tux Rental in the DR

There are plenty of places to rent a tux in Santo Domingo, haven't done it but you see them everywhere in the vicinity of Colonial Zone, Gazcue (where a lot of the high end hotels are), I imagine you can find them in other parts of the city as well, especially in the vicinity of high end hotels and office buildings. One place I have gone to have a couple of suits made is D'Caballeros (trajes elegantes). As I said I haven't had a need to rent a tux from them but I know they do rent them. I don't know if they have a webpage but the two locations that I am familiar with are in Gazcue # 221-7099, and Zona Oriental # 596-9482. Their prices in making suits are reasonable so I would imagine that their rentals prices are as well.

It is cheaper to rent in the states. You will get a better fit and all that. I would rent in the states and bring it down.

D'Caballeros is very expensive , very.

yes in the colonial zone I bought one for someone else's wedding for $100, but you can rent one in the same area for about $30 to $50, 1000 to 1500 pesos. If your waist is above 40 or so you will have to buy one maybe. And in the colonial zone nice shoes dressy ones if you looked around could be had for only $30.
