    Cosmetic Surgery

Hey guys, I'm interested in removing a scar on my forehead and an acne scars. I will be in Santo Domingo in late April. I want to take advantage of my time there. Do any of you know a good cosmetic surgeon? I google a few of it. I contacted them thru email and they haven't respond, so I figured it's a shady business.

    Re: Cosmetic Surgery

Surgery can be a lot cheaper in the DR and there is a thriving trade in people from the First World going there to get work done. However everything can be "a shady business" in the DR and anyone who risked surgery there without cast-iron insurance cover and references from trusted medical specialists in their own country would be crazy, especially as a time-filler on a mongering trip.

Dominicans cut corners in most tasks to save money but in this case it wouldn't only be your corners they would be cutting.

    Re: Cosmetic Surgery

Dude i would check out the forum in the page dr1.com . ask that question there and you will get plenty of help.

There are many very good and serious doctors here but you will have to weed them out just like in the USA. It may be cheaper then doing it in the USA.

    Hope this helps

    Re: Cosmetic Surgery

    Good question,
I have never had medical treatment in DR, however I did have some cosmedic work done in San Jose, CR at the Rosenstock Center.
Before I comitted I chked them out VERY WELL, did a search on the Clinic, Docors ect..Made sure they were as advertised US Board Certified in plastic surgery.
I had a excellent result and no problems at all, I even stayed at Zona Blue (HLH) before, during and after my operation.
my cost was 1200.00 US compared to about 4,000 here in the US
and I know we have curious readers on here so I will tell everyone what I had done...My eyes had dark circles (bags) under my eyes that I wanted GONE and upper lids that were drooping so they did upper & lower eyes for that price EVERYTHING INCLUDED (Doctors, Meds and clinic fees)

    Re: Cosmetic Surgery

I think there is a school for cosmetic surgery just off Colon Park (sometimes called Parque de Las Palomas), about one block past the Hotel Conde de Penalba. Just walk past the Hard Rock Cafe towards the waterfront and it's on your right hand side. I haven't tried their services, that's if they provide anything more than just training and education. But it may be a viable starting point to get some pricing for the range of available procedures in the country/city with a view to a referral.

If you don't want to spend too much, I know some Haitians in Muñoz who will rearrange your body with machetes for the price of a couple of bottles of rum.

Never heard anything about the DR but Colombia is famous for having excellent plastic surgeons at a fraction of the cost compared to the US.

DR has some good cosmetic surgeons as well, at very reasonable prices, I have known quite a few young ladies that have come down to have procedures done.

In the area I live Gazcue, a part of Santo Domingo just next door to the Colonial Zone and where most of the big high rise hotels on the malecon are located have quite a few locations that conduct cosmetic surgery. I myself haven't partaken, so I would not recommend a place, but I am sure if you do your research you can find a safe place, with good surgeons at a very reasonable price compared to what you would have to pay in the States.
Why should I limit myself to only one woman when I can have as many women as I want?

    Re: Cosmetic Surgery

Colombia has some first rate plastic surgeons. I had some work done there with very good results. I know of a very good doctor in Cartagena and Barranquilla also has some of the best. Don't ask me for names as my doctor has retired and I can't remember the names of the others I knew of.

Boob jobs have become a specialty there but I'm guessing that is not your plan.

    Re: Cosmetic Surgery

In the DR, Dominicans with $$$$ insist on the very best of everything. No second rate stuff for them.

There is an abundance of excellent Plastic Surgeons that cater to these folks. I have a secretary that got her tits done, as well as lipo on her stomach and fat injections in her butt(she had a great butt before, but wanted a brazilian type big butt, with the corresponding washboard abs.)

Needless to say, the results were spectacular. The tit job was 3K, the abs and butt were a little less. The room in the clinic was the equivalent of a 5 star hotel.

We got to meet the doctor when he came to visit her after her second surgery. By coincidence, he was carrying a photo album of some of his past surgeries, with before and after pics of different procedures. The majority were boob jobs, and let me tell ya, this guy knows what he's doing. I think I spent a half an hour just looking at the pics while everyone else was "chenchando"

Even more interesting, there were 4 guys I know that were in his book. All of them had face work done, and the results were very impressive.

The doctors name is Guidicelli, and he's in the aesthetic clinic on the south side of the Presidential Palace.
If you think it's love try not paying in the morning..
