being that most guys are in DR right now... figured i would give a US update... the dollar is $1-$1 to the US dollar right now in NYC... same as when you guys left!

by the by guys what's the exchange rate for the Euro.. currently trading at 1 euro to 1.36 dollar.. so the exchange should be about 41.6 to the Euro.. is this valid or does it differ?

They never give you correct EUR/USD rate in Pesos.
It is always 3 - 4 RD pesos shy.

You are always better changing EUR > USD > RD!
Change into USD in Europe or NY not in Santo Domingo.
Your ATM card might achieve better results, assuming fees are not going to kill you.

I read in "The Sosua Planet" that Mr. NYC is thinking of opening a Cambio in 2005! Maybe you want to hold out for his special rates.

Problem is that he may be short 495,000 of the required 500,000 needed.

I noticed as much on previous visits.. my ATM gives me a good rate and doesn't kill me with charges.. I usually go for RD$ 10,000 a hit..
