    Speculation

    From a source inside the banking industry, within the next few months
    the exchange rate will rise to 60-1, then artificially be brought back
    down.

    Hotels make money on rates.

    I was in Jarabacao and they subtract 3 points from the current exchange rate. Its how they do business there.

    I wasn't happy about getting 27 pesos when the OANDA rate was 34. I normally wasn't having a problem with that sort of stuff, at the cambio places in Boca and at the Europa in Sosua I got the same rate as OANDA.
