    Scotch and Sirloin Restaurant

This the new restaurant in the newly renovated hotel known locally as Woody's, don't recall the new name of the hotel itself. Easy to find, turn left when you come out of NG and walk past Casa Valeria, or turn right when you come out of Rockys and walk past Supermercado Carmen.

It opened yesterday and my novia and I decided to check it out. Based on last nights meal I will not bother again. I had a burger, expected a gourmet type burger based on the description in the menu, actually got a tastless, thin patty (have eaten thicker beef jerky) with lettuce and tomato and over cooked fries. Mi esposa had salmon which was dry and had nothing on it.

The Santo Libre I had was mixed by passing the rum bottle near the glass but I think they forgot to pour. (But then I am used to Ted's SLs at Brittania, he puts in a hint of Sprite)

Total damages 1200 pesos, including a Corona and the SL, and the 16% ITBIS.

The atmosphere was enhanced by some kids bringing a goat into the restaurant while I was eating.

Anyone else want to TOFFT?? Maybe it was opening night problems.

Thanks for the honest review. The price seems a little high and the ambiance needs a little work. We might want to do El Toro for steaks unless you want imported then you might try The Shark Bar.

The only time I had any beef during my last few trips would be in a Bolognese sauce, otherwise it was lots of fish and chicken!!

personally I've given up on getting any beef on my trips to Paradise.......first it's never quite as good as back home and second cause of the high cost.....better off with chicken and fish......and sometimes pork......like jerk pork........and it's hard to go wrong with what the locals eat......or where they eat

I've always found the prime rib at El Toro's to be really good. Things may have changed. Snoozer, you're definitely right about Ted's Santo Libres...they're the bomb!!

On a recent trip I found Ooh La Vecha right next to Britannia and Jolly Roger, the food was really good I ended up eating there like 3 times during the course of 8 day stay. I had a hamburger there one night that actually taste like a hamburger instead of what they try to pass off as burgers there.

Lou told me starting January 1st he is turning over a new leave. Getting healthy. No more smoking or drinking. And he is converting the Shark Bar into a health food restaurant.
So your USDA beef cheeseburgers with hand cut fries will now be soy burgers with carrot sticks.
Weyland promises to eat there regularly now as Lou will also be substituting the European "Futbol" leages for the NFL on the big screens.

A while back I predicted that, as the noose tightens around TFG's neck, both he and the Maga Morons here would post ever more idiotic crap. Right again.

“It was a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election from one administration to the next," McConnell told reporters. "That’s what it was."

I have eaten there. The food is good, and a little expensive for Sosua.

It depends what part of paradise. I have had some very good steaks in the DR. . . .just not in sosua. I even had a good one in cabarete at a lil place owned by a dude from argentina.

    Puerto madero in STI

Antonio's, Madera, David Crocketts, Porter House, Rancho all have good steaks and the prime rib at outback is decent. . . .along with a bloomin onion.

If you want good food in Sosua, Orchidee it is. I've had most all of the menu, the price is great and quality always good. Marua Mai has good steaks but most menu items are pricey. Fish and chips are good at Britannia, large portion and cheap. I spend a lot of time there lusting after Ava and Hiedy. Haven't been to El Toro in a couple years but will try it next trip.
