I thought the Apart Hotel Don Antonio was like only around $30-$35/night?

I paid $39 per nt at Don Antonio last month. That included air conditioning. Just booked D'Piero (near Passions) for my March trip, $45 per nt. for a 1br flat, includes air cond and breakfast.

Looks like a nice spot. Have you stayed there before?

Sounds like a nice place, I tour it during a recent visit in October 2009. It looks like a quiet little private place. Let us know how your stay goes.

No, I haven't stayed there before, but I checked it out on my last trip. Should be a nice quiet hideaway close to Passions, which I visit at least once per day.

Prices go slighty up during high season.

As I noted, if you get a room without A/C it will cost $35. I also heard some people asking about a long term stay (I forget how long they were going to stay) but that dropped the price down to $29.

Re: Hotel Reviews: Sea Breeze and Don Antonio

found a rate of $36 for EL Colibri last night online for April......when I was there in September they were quoting mi $55/night for a really nice room........and think they quoted mi around $45 for a standard room.......they all were nice......and have to admit I really like the place....

tuff to beat these prices in the DR........a lot better than the room rates in Montego Bay, Jamaica.......Negril rates aren't bad but still no where as low as Sosua

The spot right across from the chicken cart and the ATM had really nice rooms with full kitchens for $40 or $45 a night. The Macman, the Legend and I checked it out during the last trip (maybe one of them will chime in with the name). The only problem I had was all the rooms were on the first floor and me being from the hood have always had a thing for first floor apts and stray bullets

I had a apartment there for a week at Halloween to have a place in town when I wasn't out at the Condo I had. I know everything about this place but will just say you be the judge some will like it and some not.

If you are Italian and want privacy you will love it.

Very small pool and bar area with like 3 stools off Rodriquez before Pete's then down culdesac. Great for me with car to slip in.

Owner Great Italian guy with pit bulls around to keep it safe ( I loved that)

Those dogs know a dog lover. They licked my feet at the pool. Oh shut up

I drink and the only dogs I like have 4 legs.

If you book on Expedia then they will back you up where ever you stay or upgrade you to a even fancier place. Otherwise you are on your own.
You can even add tours and stuff then and a car or whatever.

Re: Hotel Reviews: Sea Breeze and Don Antonio

what is security like at DonAntonio?

are there safes, and if so, are the digital or keyed?

i'm trying to read up on hotels as much as possible.

trying to find something close to latino/classico. with digital safes. and a fridge, and cheap.

we dont care much for new garden, and other places im seeing are either higher priced, or dont offer safes.. particularly digital.

we are already booked at rockys (stayed at the tradewinds condo last trip, but it was a bit far) i dont mind the rooms at rockys, but 11 days, and no fridge is a pain. but the price is great and they have digi-safes.

    trying to find something equivilent.

but cant find info on safes for D.A.

I stayed there in early December. Obie is a great guy and just about anything goes as long as you are respectful the other guests. pool and bar are chica friendly and safes are digital. Any more questions, just ask.

I was able to pickup wireless internet in my room but had to put computer on dresser close to the door and my room was across from where they have their router.

IMHO, Hotel Europa, is a huge downgrade from Seabreeze and New Garden. The rooms are old and smelly. The location isnt that great either, doesnt seem far, but try walking there from Classico's on a rainy night, not a good idea. last yr their price was $55, but Seabreeze opened and took all their business. Now they dropped the price to get their customers back, maybe they should remodel that might help.
