Yep owning the land or building is important. You make improvements and create a nice turnkey business for the land or building owner. Thats about all your doing because if you start turning a real profit they will want the place back.

    Re: Cuba Libre for sale

Where I had my discotheque years ago, there was a guy that was there before me that had basically the same business.

He didn't have a clue how to run the place, was an absentee owner, yada, yada.....

Anyway, he offered to sell the business to me for a good chunk of change.

This guy was so stupid, that he made the comment to me, "If you don't buy it, then I'm just going to shut it down and walk away"

    DUH!!!!

A month later, he did just that. I picked the place up two days later for just the rent the guy owed the owner of the building, and told him I'd even clean the place out for him.

I went in, remodeled the place, and started with next to nothing. I didn't the previous guy a dime.
If you think it's love try not paying in the morning..

I'm guessing that is an old photo as the sun is shining and it sure wasn't shining anytime in the last couple of weeks.

If you are basing your observation on a daytime pass-by it would be quiet as CL is only open at night.

CL is used by many expats and we are such chicken shits that we don't go out when it's pissing down with rain, so I guess Fred has had a quiet couple of weeks.

A few raindrops on our heads gives us the gripe!!!!

As for selling anytime soon, ain't gonna happen unless a D'Arcy type comes along!!!

A lot of bars stock Coca-Cola light. Asking for 'Diet' as opposed to 'Lite' will get you those looks.

I drove by several times at night including 2 or 3 times late night on the way back to the apartment and it was very very quiet. I would have stopped in for beer in the light rain. I didn't see the usual stream of girls walking PC past Petes that I normally saw heading past Andys going up toward Freds and circling back.
