Re: Your 5 Best Choices for Eating in Sosua

You all know I luv Rocky's but I am trying to be very even in my reviews. That said, some of the best pizza around comes out of the Rocky's pizza oven and the price is also better than most other places. Everyone I have pointed to Rocky's for the pizza has been impressed and are now fans and repeat customers. As good as the pizza has been over the years I find it even better now...not sure exactly why but give it a try and let us know what you think!

Let's have beers on the beach when you come to the DR next!

I thought their pizza was good, I had the Bologna one which is the loaded one and it was heavily loaded with some form of small yellow round summer squash which I picked off.

I did like the pizza otherwise but when we were there there was only one waiter working only 4 tables in the outer part and he was junk. Forgot parmesan cheese until 3rd request and Medic had to get up and go get napkins of another table after 2 tries.

You just never know but I would eat there again.

Speaking of food...it's lunch time...perhaps on the beach, nyone want to join us?

La Punto - Sosua Ocean Village - International cuisine
    Chilli's - La Mulatta II - Thai
Hungarian - past Cuba Libre, keep going past the old disco, big sign on wall - (er obviously Hungarian food)

Just some variety as it seems all you bloody tourists want is pizza and grilled chicken!!

#4 is called Andy's bar and restaurant and that Hamburger and Fries for 120 Pesos is hard to beat. I drink there alot before Passions since the beer is half the price at 50 pesos for Presidentes and 40 for Brahma

Except for Burger King, I never had a good hamburger n DR. If you want to talk about fish or chicken, I had some great meals in DR.

Andy's is the full sitdown restaurant just before Pasion's and the attached 'restaurant' is Passion Burger, IIRC. Those sound like Andy's beer prices though and the burger place attached does not serve beer, again IIRC.

There are currently many places that serve great burgers:

    1. Cafe Cubano has awesome cheeseburgers!
    2. La Costera had a HUGE burger, right Tony Toca!
    3. Rocky's new and improved burger is excellent
    4. Tom's Scandinavian Beach Bar is 'top rated' for la playa

I am not sure if you are referring to the little chicken burger stand with the window opening in Passions because now you said next to and like the guy who runs it.

Before in #4 you said the bar that has a burger and fries which is Andys and is a bar with beer and drinks and bartenders not the chicken shack burger guy. Both are good I just got confused when you said you like the guy who runs it.
