Colombia interested in Dominican Republic's tourism model

Colombia's Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister met with his counterpart of the Dominican Republic Sunday to discuss the latter's tourism model.

Minister Luis Guillermo Plata said he is interested in the two countries working together and Colombia gaining experience in tourism of the Caribbean country.
The Dominican Republic has done "an excellent job in tourism investment and the development of high-level tourism projects. Colombia is looking for this as well," Plata stated.

Dominican Minister Francisco Javier Garcia said after the meeting with Plata that "one of the best things of the Dominican Republic to follow has been the development of tourism in the country."

Tourism is one of the main economic sectors of the Caribbean island.

If the DR is the model to follow on how to treat tourists then the other Latin American countries must be pretty dire.

Cartagena would be a nice place. I am sure many more girl would flock to that location. They already have the party/carnival bus. I want to experience that anyway.
