I'm a Payer not a Player
For all the senior members, experienced people, first timers and new guys;
The purpose of the post was not to discourage anyone from going or to dissuade any decisions. It is only for information, so everyone can know the possibility is out there, the streets are watching, and waiting to catch someone slipping. It happens everywhere in the world I have been to.
Sosua is as safe or dangerous as any other place, you just have to be prepared in the DR just like you need to be at home.
If you are considering a trip, take it if the DR is the kind of place you want to see. It is a beautiful Island with beautiful women, you can have a wonderful time on this island. Stay safe, God Bless.
Just Doing It
I appreciate the reporting and the hints of awareness. Please throw all the information out for everyone to sift through. I am less than a month away from my first trip to Sosua. I have read through this board for close to 9 months and have learned so much from you guys!! MUCHOS GRACIAS!!
I am a low-key, observant guy who has been a few places. I am planning on haveing a GREAT time --travelling smart, keeping my guard and my Dick up!! Hell, I live in a nasty US city where this clip occurs way too often!!

Beach Whore...looking for MORE!!
No, not the case. The incident with the Haitian guys was before the incident with Storm. I know who her pimp is, I spoke with him......twice......he is Dominican, and he seems like a nice guy too .
The situation with the three guys..... I think I have an idea about that.... but it is not anything I can post on the board. It has nothing to do with any girl. Perhaps If you are in the DR in June we can discuss it.
The (real) pimps are easy to spot, for the most part( there are exceptions). They are the guys at the bars sitting off to the side away from the main areas where the gringos sit (so they can watch you...and the girls), they usually have water, or a plastic bottle of something that they brought with them (not from the bar). When their girls leave the bar and go to the next one....so do they.... at a distance. You can also see them putting the girls in check between bars and on the side streets that run off Pedro C. between the casino and Seacrets.
Real pimps (not mooching/profiting boyfriends), Dominican and Haitian operate almost just like pimps do at home (U.S.) in terms of checking bitches and keeping them in pocket. The main difference I see in Haitian pimps is they readily mutilate the girls, biting them and scratching them.
Corrado,
Ok thx for the heads up...
Please share your thoughts and experiences on two subjects:
1. When would you call police in DR and when you wouldn't?
2. What will you do if a chica threatens to call a police at your place of stay because she wants to get paid more than you agreed upon verbally and what actually happens when she does?
1. More than likely, it wouldn't get to the point where you'd have to involve policia. I would call only after hotel staff couldn't control the situation and right before I'd have to resort to violence. If you're talking about while you're in the street and a chica gets nutty, grab an officer that's roaming around the premises (that is if one's around). I've been lucky in most of my drama, because a chica friend of mine intervenes and checks the other chica and eliminating further drama.
2. Chicas who threaten are usually bluffing. When it's happened to me, I'd say "go right ahead" or an even better "no, let me call them". They usally do a 180 in terms of attitude. That's why a lot of hotels now keep the chica's identification until you give the "all clear". Chicas will act right when their identification is being held hostage.
Calling the police is really a matter of last resort, mainly because they are not going to do anything anyway. In most instances they are only for window dressing to make tourists feel that there is security. There are some military units and SWAT units that are very well trained, but they revert to type when the chiefs are not around. If you have some sort of incident where you must have a police report, then call them otherwise it is; 6 in one hand & half a dozen in the other.
If they do, call the police for them, but make sure to call the Politur and not the PN. In almost all the instances I know of the Politur makes sure you have not abused the girl and then tells her to get the fuck on, the PN on the other hand, will try to get you to pay them full price for almost no service. There are PN that will mediate fairly but they are few and you have to know them. In any case, no matter what they tell you they cannot make you pay her if she did not do what she agreed to.
That was a nice read Corrado thank you. Would hurt to see that a member passed away being robbed, let's be safe out there ISOC
Kinda late to this discussion..but maybe my comments can help a first timer..
This really underscores the importance of choosing properly..
To each his own, but this is the primary reason I don't point and shoot....
I get a to know a chica..and she gets to know me. I'd like to think that they recognize my gangster..
I've been to Rio once and the DR 5 times and only had a minor disagreement with a chica one time.....
That was because I did not talk rates before we got back to the crib..and I did not pay attention to the fact that she wasn't "feeling me" as much as most of the other chicas have....she was fine as hell though.
As she sat on the bed...I remembered to firm up the rate. She held firm to 4k. With a nasty attitude told me she would NEVER fuck an american for even 2k. I promptly walked her ass all the way to the hispaniola gate and gave her 50 pesos for a moto.
I then called up my favorita that I had dodged all night at Classicos and went and picked her up from the bus stop..
Thanks for the heads up! I was having second thoughts about taking my first trip. But then again, I have survived Rio and Quito so it shouldn't be much worse. But the thought of crazy haitan guys standing around with machetes makes me nervous lol..
BTW Corrado, who's booty is that in your gif? A girl from DR? That is magnificent!
Wow that is disturbing, glad to hear nothing happened to a fellow board member. I usually am in Sosua solo so this does give me some cause for concern. Thanks for pointing out the situation on the ground, and giving us the heads up
