The Cheapest VS the Best Hotel in Sosua

The best The New Garden (NG) the Best in my opinion
    http://www.newgardenhotel.net/
    $55 a night

The Palms Condos which is rented though Sosua Vacation Rentals
    http://www.sosuavacationrentals.com
    The cheapest 25$ a night + $5 for AC

    New Garden
Why I say for us the NewGarden is the best, location and the very social atmosphere. You canfind nicer places in Sosua but nothing in Sosua comes close the atmosphere if you are look to hang out with others while chasing the chicas. If you are coming down here alone and want to meet friends to chase the chicas with the NG is your place. There always members of these boards hanging out in the NG. On my last trip to DR I started almost every night going to the NG and meeting my friends. The NG is located in the middle of every thing. You are in walk distance of both beach and all the clubs. You don’t need a car if you stay at NG. As you enter in to the NG there is a restaurant and Pool that that is a place where members of these board congregate before going out. There are always a few every cute chicas hang there too. On Saturdays they have a bikini contest. The owner does a very good job of recognizing and catering to repeat customers. As for the room they are nice they have all the amities sat TV a safe AC. I regent not booking a few nights there. Meet my friends at the NG reminded me of my collage days going out partying with one big difference, with $40 I always got the girl

    The Palms Condos
The Palms was much nice than I expected it to be. I was very happy with the room it came with all the amities you would expect in an American motel plus a safe and a little kitchen, a refrigerator micro wave pots and pans for cooking and eating with. The rooms also have water coolers with filtered drinking water. The grounds are very well kept with nice pool. The atmosphere is very privet. If you are staying in Sosua for a week or more and are on a budget the Palms is worth a look. The down side you need a car or moped. Yes you can find cheaper place to stay in Sosua but not with the amities.

    Which is for you?
    The New Garden if
You are coming alone and want to hang out with other Americans and Canadians
You are not renting a car or moped.
I recommend New Garden If it your first trip to the DominicRepublic.

The Palms Condos if want to save some money and
You are renting a car or moped
You are coming with a wing man or you want this trip to be very privet.

2 other hotels I like on the same street as The New Garden.

Hotel Casa Valeria $50 a night next door to NG and my favorite place to eat breakfast.
    http://www.hotelcasavaleria.com/

Terra Linda Resort 2 up for NG with a little nicer rooms $70 a night

When I stay up at Tradewinds/Plams area, I have 3 moto guy's that I use for back and forth. I get their phone numbers and call them when I need a ride into town late at night. During the daylight...I walk, it is a short 10 min walk...good to clear up the head.

Actually NG may be the Best that is a matter of opinion compared to Sosua Bay Resort, Terra Linda, Piero Georgio, Hotel Residence D'Piero and on and on.

But the Cheapest hasn't been mentioned. DonQ's is NOT the cheapest and I don't think he wants to be thought of as the cheapest but perhaps one of the best values.

Cheapest CoCo hotel $20 and many others for $25 including Rockies, Don A, and at least a dozen more.

I posted an apartment for $20 a day last year and it still is there for the same price. There are alot more places than the ones talked about week in and week out.

In my opinion you don't need a car to stay at the Palms.Like stated before,10 min.walk, andf 3/4 min. motoconcho for 30/40pesos in the day and a little more at night plus you gotta love the armed security team at the Palms!!

I've never rented a car and have stayed at The Palms a couple of times. The walk to town is no big deal, but I was lucky enough to not get caught in a storm mid-walk.

Oh yeah, what was your criteria on choosing the "best" hotel?

It is 2-3 blocks from that German Bakery on Rodriquez by Piero. It is right off the highway at the turn just east of the car wash where it heads down toward that Karoke bar between Europa and Coyote. Just a half block off highway right near the bus stop.

I am at the Palms right now. With it raining every fucking day, you can feel like you are a little confined and out of the loop. I ride the motos a few times a day...not really a major inconvenience, but I don't mind the walk. I bought an umbrella at the beach so it has come in very useful.

Now if I can only find Rihanna!!

Has anyone stayed at the Casa Valeria? Based on the website photos the rooms seem nice but I would like an honest opinion from someone who has actually stayed there. This will be my first trip to DR so I want to be located where all the action is.

Also, can someone provide information on the guest policy for each hotel..I know the Terra Linda has a 1 guest at a time policy but what about the other hotels listed?

Club Residencial is consistently good. Great rooms, cold a/c, good kitchen, reliable bar downstairs, and a restaurant across the street that delivers. It's not New Garden, so don't plan on having any crazy parties. It's more family oriented. It's where I'm staying when I return.

I have toured it and like it alot. Unfortunately they have not had anything for the prime winter dates I needed when many Euro's stay for months.

This is the DR and rules are not really mostly always sometimes usually firmly for sure consistently all the time positively carved in stone. GET IT. Terra Linda you can have a 3 some just politely go to the restaurant and order then escort a girl to the room. Then after a drink or two more take the other one up.

I know several people that have done this NONE with a problem. Just no 3some nakedness in the pool.

They are not stupid and hear no evil speak no evil.

There may be a "cheapest" but there can be no "best". That depends on what your requirements are and I think the OP made his very clear.
