Living Cost in Santiago

In Santiago I think you could live on $1200 a month if you live a low maintainance lifestyle. But so much depends on individual spending habits and comfort level. I would want at least $1500 for Sosua / Cabarete area.

how much do you think not including rent? because all that is getting confusing to me lately.

I spend $15 per week drinking. $15= 500 pesos. one pequena presidente is 50 pesos so i drink about 10 beers a week.

Never mind I am a dope and read it wrong. 15 bucks a week is doable. Heck I probably spend less than that many times. I never drnk at home unless I have guests. There are weeks where we don't really go out.

The new apt I have is much further away from most of the action in SDQ so I can see us going out a lot less. In Gazcue it is much more tempting to go out and wind up spending a bunch of cash.

When I moved here, I had a few rules: never date anyone who lives in puerto plata, sosua or cabarete ( they are not all working girls, but most of them are, so why take the chance) no girls with kids ( too many girls without kids) I prefer to date girls that speak english and are educated. I dated a lot of high maint. girls when I moved here (doctors and lawyers). Now, i finally found something in the middle and I am happy. Look, most dominican guys have a wife at home that loves them and takes care of everything ( si papi te amo mucho) and then they go to the cabana with some young hot girl and have fun. the best of both worlds.

It is like Robert said it depends on you individual habits in Sosua it can get out of hand especially if you have no other responsiblities.
