There's plenty that I saw last. Jan of last year- on the beach during the day (mostly Hatians- so that might have changed) and at the bar/clubs @ night.
    Can Ohmmmm comment?

Check out the Bambo Bar. You should find something there.

Next door is Ono Bar. Fri and Saturday used to be great. THere is a new policy that solo chicas can't enter the Cabarete bars. Don't know if that rule is enforced at this time. You need to see Cabarete during Semana Santa. Completely off the hook. Everyone from Santiago comes to hit the beach for 3 days.

If you a rented a car than I would definitely head out to Sosua. Only about a 10 minute drive. You can find Chicas if you try hard enough but there's better quality and definitely more of a selection to choose from in Sosua. Where are you staying in Cabarete? We stayed at Ocean Dream last time around and commuted to Sosua about twice a day.

I went to visit someone at Ocean Dream last week and it is a very nice place. If you want something very nice and upscale for the north coast, that is it.

So you went to Ocean Dream- but did you ask about the little restaurant "Cookie's" run by the French couple?
I'm curious to know if it's still open.
    It's on the condo premises.

There is no restaurant/bar or any type of dining/drinking establishment whatsoever on Ocean Dream premises.

In the Ocean Dream Plaza on the main road there is a sushi restaurant, Yamazotu (or something like that) and there was/is a fairly mundane bistro, City Of York.

I've never heard of Cookie's anywhere in Cabarete.

Definitely on the premises. I had to pass the security guard/ gate to get there. The place is the size of a small garage/shack. Obviously no signs visible from the street.
But aren't there two condo complexes right next to each other?
I went to the wrong one at first. I was told about the place by a coworker that stayed there in a rental condo w her family- also met an older ex-pat lady there who was a regular. She's blonde and an ex- hippie type. She has a big dog, a Lab- I believe. Maybe you know her.

Re: On our way to cabarete

I would say that the no-solo-girls-allowed-in-the-bar policy in Cabarate went into effect right around the time that Sosua started breaking the girls balls there and many of them went over to Cabarete.

If you're in the mood for some American music then check out the Kahuna bar. We went there to watch a few football games when the Shark Bar was closed and we couldn't take the blaring music at the Rumba Bar.

Next time you're down here, hit me up and show me. If we find it the 'cookies' are on me.

That 'no-chicas in bar' policy in Cabarete has been in place for a couple of years now and as such pre-dated the recent Sosua situation by some considerable time.

Chicas that are local, regular 'faces', or do not look or dress like putas have no problem, but many of them realise that certain establishments, like Nikki Beach or Kahuna for example, will make them feel uncomfortable.

Bambu still has a reasonably 'open to all' policy.

PUNTO FRIO---A new Dominican Sunday night disco. Located about 1/2 mile East of the casino. Near midnight, about 70 Dominicans, no Haitians, dancing. I was the only non-RDer . A good place to meet non-pros. Especially if you like 'em with large butts! Also, a very nice bar on the beach in the daytime.

City of york reportedly had decent fish and chips. never got to try em as they were closed. I may have to take a few days off and hit cabarete. You still doing the condo rental thang?

City of York is closed down. Dunno when that happened but pre-Xmas perhaps.

A Tex-Mex place called Gordito's is opening soon in the same location.

That'll be the 4th or 5th restaurant to try that spot. Hope they succeed.

    And yes.

Kahuna is a good place to ''hang''. they are very amenable to playing a game that you want to see. Sometimes, they over-do hockey. Waitresses are hot!. Food is ok, but expensive.

I'm not a butt person, but have noticed that for most Dominican women, the butt starts to extend back and to the sides very widely after about 30 years of age.

After 22 years of age is more like it.
