01/2011 - BlackBeards - very impressed with their last newsletter

As someone who is in the business of public relations including producing magazines, newslettters, brochures, writing and editing for non-profit organizations, I think Blackbeards does a great job with the newsletter. The latest issue was just released. They have a regular format and keep it simple. Whenever someone reads (and looks) at the whole thing, it is pretty successful. The photos are always nice and the writing solid and entertaining. I also like the honesty about requesting those who stay there to help manage the cost by turning off the air-conditioning when not in the rooms.

I have stayed at BBs many times and always have a nice experience. Naturally, the fantasy in the newsletters does not always measure up to the actual sea-faring experience. However, more often than not, the experience delivers and I book another cruise. BBs and Passions are the two places that appear to know their market well . . . one of the primary principles of good public relations and eventual delivery of product. Others in Sosua, Puerto Plata and other places would do well to take notes.

BBs and Passions offer a great product/experience to the largest group, those who can afford a reasonably priced and quality product. I believe they will continue to find success as long as they stay on course. If they get to fancy or go to high-end in their pricing and product, they will say "Good-bye" to this large group. However, it appears that both are wisely staying the course . . . and finding success in doing so.

Yes, they do a good job. Just because of these newsletters I have just extended my stay in BB`s from four to five days.

I have been visiting Blackbeard's about every 2-3 months for some time now, and just completed my most recent stay in mid June.

Every time I visit, there are invariably a few girls who have parted ways with BB's, and some new ones on the roster to take their place.

On this most recent visit, I noticed more turnover than usual. Gone as of less than 3 weeks ago are Carolina, Margarita, Lily Beth, Antonia, Alexandra, Norvalis, Yaritza, and Marie Esther.

Some of the numerous new faces include LaBeba, Madeline, Janet, Estefani, Ruby, Ledi, Karina, and about two others whose names I cannot recall. Also, a friend of Chantal's was interviewing for a job on the day before I left, and might possibly be a member of the roster as we speak.

The trend in the newly arrived girls seems to be younger and more slender, which is just fine with me. Several of the above mentioned are in the 18-19 age range.

Dude... I arrive the day you depart! LOL! I'll be there October 6-15!! This'll be my first trip to BB's, second trip to Sosua. Still haven't booked a room in Sosua. Not gonna stay at NG this time around. I'll definately have to mine you for intel, especially regarding talent at BB's.

Just got done with a weeks stay at BB's with Dunedain and they have done a nice job re-stocking the roster with some nice looking chicas. Report and pics on the way soon as we are in recovery mode

We just got back and they don't sell tshirts. There's just a little glass display cabinet that sells nightie's and underwear. It would be pretty cool if they expanded on that though

I don't think the owner of BB's wants or likes to advertise like that. I've had some conversations before with him and he's always saying how low a profile and low-key he likes to keep things.

If you see some chicas there with a T-shirt that has a combination of a stripper pole, Brugal bottle, beach scene and DR flag with a bull on the sleave and back it's one I designed for a trip down there. There's a meaning and message to the shirt.
