Do they buy english OS on PC's and do a translate? Or are they buying pc's with spanish OS on them?
the few times I've used a pc in an Internet Cafe, it was english.
I have this "friend", and he's thinking about buying a laptop for a chica.

When you can think of yesterday without regret and tomorrow without fear, you are near contentment.
Your opinions are not my problem...
I don't have an exact answer to your question, it really depends on whether they can read/understand english but... You pretty much have to buy the Spanish language OS separately (which tacks another $100-ish on to the pricetag) and install it yourself or pay the premium to have it pre-installed by the shop (because I don't think MS gives the same bundling deal to manufacturers on non-English versions so it'll always be more expensive to get a system with another language installed.)
Another option is to buy a machine with windows 7 ultimate installed because you can install any of 35 different languages directly from the ultimate disk, (or download them from MS's web site if you have it installed but don't have the disk) iirc.
All of the latest Windows PC's can easily be changed between English and Spanish.
In Windows 7 it's...Start/Programs/Control Panel/Region and Language.
Click the tab that says Keyboards and Languages, then on the bottom choose a display Language.
My system has Spanish and Portuguese already there..
Don't remember if I did that manually...but just click install languages to select whichever you want.
Oops deezl is right you gotta have Ultimate or Enterprise to install/switch to any language you want.

All depends on what comes with the stolen laptop!!!
This "friend" would be better off buying a laptop for an ex-pat here. He will appreciate it much more than any chica and he will not ask for WU immediately after you give it to him. Unless your "friend" is already sending WU. In that case I could use the money more and will certainly spend it more wisely.
They use Win 2000 Professional at the airport..
Thanks, Win 7 Ultimate does do it, but a bit pricey - $220 upgrade. My "friend" was thinking just a netbook and they only use Win 7 Starter.
Probably best to try to find a Spanish Win 7 or XP OS and stick it on an economical 14" machine.
If you think it's love try not paying in the morning..
