Today's Posts or New Posts!

Not everyone comes to ISOC every day so I wasn't going to make the change without input.

There is a tab next to "Blogs" that says "What's New?" hitting that button shows all new posts for your username.

Some people like "Today's Posts", but it is only good for people who visit this site once every 24 hours. Since "Today's Posts" only show all posts in the last 24 hours, new & old.

Now please note "New Posts" & "Today's Posts" will remain in the sub-menu of the navigation bar when viewing forums no matter the results of this poll. (to the left of "Forum Sections")

Just a reminder:
New Posts = ALL new posts since your last visit.
Today's Posts = ALL new & old posts in the last 24 hours.

So the Poll is:
Keep "What's New?" how it is. (New Posts)
Change "What's New?" to Today's Posts.
Add a second large tab next to "What's New?" adding "Today's Posts".

I wish you could do away with both, and just do an unread post!!!!

On the average day, I check this site out alot, so I don't miss any posts.

But, like in summertime, or when I'm on vacation, I sometimes miss a week or two. So if it was only a "Today's Posts" button, I would miss a ton of unread posts!

I would like an "unread posts" button, but then again, I usually only think of me!

I think that new posts = unread, to you. Once you read it it's not new any more.

i always start with new posts and when there is nothing left to see or read i like hitting todays posts so i can go back and recheck it as well as proof read my own posts so i voted to keep both.

After finishing one thread I hit the "new post" button. It is a good way of seeing topics that are very active if they keep popping up to the top.

I use today's post when I want to go back to a thread that I already saw that day.

If I had to choose one then it would be to keep "New Post". I dont know how others do it but that is how I keep up with post. I voted for both because I use both.


"Today's post has value to those that log on multiple times a day. I log on maybe three or more times a day. (before work, lunch time, after work, before bed, in the middle of the night, after a night out...)

I would prefer both. The way I see it if you just have today's posts and haven't signed in for a couple of days you won't see the posts from previous days?

It would be nice if 'new posts' were really new posts since you last logged in (like in the WSG & ISG) rather than unread posts.

Believe it or not they removed it from vBulletin but someone made an addon.

You should see a divider now.
