    Sosua. Newbie questions

Today is my first trip to Sosua (in 6 hours). I'll stay for 7 nights AI.
I read many trip reports but I still have a couple of questions.

    1) "Finish massage". The best ones is Fantacy massage and Belky's, right? The price 500 ?
    2) Where to play poker now in Sosua? I heard that games in the Sosua Bay casino are pretty dead. It would be great if someone can give me a Google map locations. I prefer to play $1/2
    3) Money exchange is best place WU. But it is like $10 difference so it really doesn't matter.
    4) CMP, La Passion's prices are pretty high. So in CMP is better to pay salida 1000 and negotiate with the chica. What about La Passion's? 1300 - price for massage with BJ? What about takeout best choices ?
    5) Prices for ST and TLN is in average 1k/2k. Where better to pickup chica in daytime? How to say short time in spanish? Thats just what I know:" Me gustaria para su compania. Quanto cuesta para su compania? Uno mil pesos para short time"
    6) Here is great interactive map of Sosua http://news.insearchofchicas.org/for...ht=casa+marina But I didn't find there an AfterOne club
    7) What is the best alternatives to Rockies rooms ? I will stay there but it is always good to know some other places. Where "Dulce Secreto" is located ?(plz on map)

So that's all my questions. This is a great community and I want to be a part of it.

    Re: Sosua. Newbie questions

Dulce Secreto is not a place to spend your vacation, it is a Cabana and is too far from the strip. There are a bunch of hotels in the area and if you spend a day or two in Rocky's and don't like it you can easily find another. Also, there will be other people staying in Rockys you can talk to for advice. There is a casino downtown at the other end of the strip from where you are staying (toward the beach) and After One is located in that building on the first floor to the right of the entrance. Almost everyone at Rocky's and in Sosua knows where that is and both are within short walking distance. In fact, you can walk to CMP or Passions if you want. Some people will take a moto late at night. Coming back from those places, the moto may take you in what you think is a round about way, but Pedro Cicante is a One-Way road near downtown and motos are forced to go around the block. Some people don't know that and think the moto guy is ripping them off or ? on their first trip to Sosua.

When in the DR, be careful of Casino games like Roulette or other games that are new to you as people can be ripped of there. When you get in town, don't be shy and say hello to lots of people. People from Canada and New York that come here frequently are usually the most friendly. Also, Rick (owner of Rocky's) is a good host and resource. He will know where the ISOC guys are and take you to them or at least escort you to a bar or two on your first days if you ask.

Whatever plans you have be prepared to throw them away. Just enjoy your first time. Chicas will probably play a few games with you because you are new but don't get too upset and just roll with it and learn.

    All the best!

I assume this is a typo and you intended to write "people from England and Syracuse"? But the Canadians are OK, too.

No, there is nowhere else quite like that. But there are other places which have their own different appeal. Are you spending all this trip at Blackbeards, and inquiring for your next trip, or are you thinking of moving elsewhere this trip?

Whatever, invest in subscribing to the trip reports section on this board and you will find all the information you need for this and future trips.

    Heading to POP March 19-31

Heading down to POP in March for the 1st time. I am staying at Lifestyles on Cofresi. It looks like it is close to BlackBeards. Are there any other P4P nearby?

    Re: Newbie

The guy who asked about a poker game, you can find a Texas Holdem game every night at Sosua Bay.. Not sure of the blinds, but i think its was close to 100, 200 pesos, which is about $2.50, $5.00 USD, they had a full table the 3 nights I went there a few weeks ago... It's no limit, has some good players and some drunk rich tourists who are dying to lose all their money... (I met a guy who played a few nights and he told me this, when I went to the casino I only played a few hands of blackjack)

If you are staying at Rockies, just ask Rick everything you wanna know and he will have an answer... Make sure you read some reports so you know what to expect before Rick hands you the bible... lol

    Enjoy and take pictures!

At that Particular Resort you're staying I believe it cost $100 to bring a chica in.

Black Beard's is 10 minutes away, So Is Whitebeard's (Field of Dreams)

    Sosua is 20 minutes away

Yes, blinds are 100, 200. You have to buy in with a minimum of 2000 pesos. Table is usually full by 10pm, then you can wait in line for someone to loose.

Yes, those journey times make more sense.

Assuming he is not taking anyone back to Lifestyles, there are various whorebars where he can do chicas onsite in Puerto Plata but the rooms are usually pretty squalid. Otherwise take them to a cabaña (plenty near Cofresí) or Whitebeards, which rents room for ST.

There's one just down the hill from Lifestyles, on the road to Puerto Plata.

The Hollywood Cabana if I remember correctly. I've never been there, but Nap did a few times on our first "family" trip. When we stayed in Cofresi.

I think that White Beards is about 10 Minutes away...? But in the opposite direction from Black Beards.

When I travel from BB's to Sosua, I'm never accurate. I think it's 20-30 minutes.
