    First time packing list?

I searched for "packing list" and searched in Newb section. Am I just missing it?

As far as clothes go that's accurate.

Condoms - pack more than you think you need. It's hit or miss which condom brands you can find in DR. I ran out once and wasn't pleased with the other options there.

Extra toothbrushes are good to have for chicas.

Mouthwash - also good for chicas, but sometimes they'll use all your shit up if you let them. Mouthwash is also good to clean your junk before and after fuckin--I'm just sayin.

    Lube good to have

    Sunscreen

Soap - The hotel soap is usually very small. I bring my own. You can buy or bring your own.

Wash cloth and maybe extra towel - Hotels in DR don't provide wash cloths and are tight with the towels.

A lot depends on whether you fly with just a carry-on or you're checking bags. Most toiletries you can buy at la farmacia or playero (grocery store)

Welcome. There should be a number of ISOC guys in the DR at any given time and for sure during the holidays. You may have to post some specific dates and the hotel you will stay at when you get closer to your trip. Some guys plan well advance and others book a few weeks before...

Reading and learning here will help when you get to the DR. Knowing a bit about the Dominican culture will help, but be aware you may learn some new things when you get here... Even if you are part Dominican, I think you will be in for some surprises when you get here for the first time. I wish I knew how to speak Spanish better...but that is entirely my fault. Hope you have a great trip.

Throw in some mosquito spray, and some Hydrocortisone anti-itch cream.

When you get here you can buy little bottles of hand-cleansing liquid with leak-proof tops. Good to carry around as you will experience some very insanitary lavatories often without soap or towels (or with towels you would be terrified to use). Also useful after shaking hands with Robert because you know he spends most of his time on the beach jerking off.

In Blackbeard's they always seem bad to me at night. That could be bad there because it's located in between more wet land, trees and wooded streets. In Sosua I never thought they were much of a problem at any time. Others may think differently of course.

    Hey Guys,

Im heading to sosua in November and I am trying to decide between staying at Rockies ($25/night) or Don Antonio ($32/night) ? which one is more chica friendly, do they both have security guards, how are the rooms there? what were your experiences there like?

    Re: Rockies or Don Antonio?

For the price you can't go wrong with either.

Rick, the owner of Rocky's is the best host and enough good things can't be said about the level of service and information that he can deliver on. That's why I'm giving my business to him and staying at Sosua Suites in a few days.

I stayed at Don Antonio back in March and for $35 a night. I had a decent room, with a kitchen and skimped on the AC (didn't need it at night). The kitchen was important to me. The owner Obe is a great guy and very good host as well to give credit where credit is due. They are undergoing some major construction currently from what I've read so that's something you may want to consider.

Both are very chica friendly. Don Antonio has a guard, Rocky's has a self-locking gate. Both are within seconds to everything.

They are both close to each other. So location is a tie.

I've only seen one room at Don Antonio, and it seemed small. But they have a pool.

Rocky's is ground zero for the guys coming down. Rooms are bigger than the one I seen at D.A.

I prefer the locked gate over the security guard. She can't leave until I let her out. There have been stories of chicas walking right past security guards, at least one carrying a laptop.

Yes, but that incident was at a hotel no-one in their right mind would recommend!
