The two DR stars are both former U of L players (Garcia and Sosa) and combined for 59 points, so it was kind of a state rivalry game. It was quite enjoyable to watch. The Kentucky all star team was loaded with tallent, but I don't think they even practiced much together before. On the other hand, the DR olympic team had been together only 40 days at that point. They could surprise some teams in the Olympics.

From what I read the KY guys were all guards. John Wall and Rajon Rondo among them.
Our all star teams never practice much together unless a lot is at stake like a gold medal.

Calipari said that due to the NBA lockout, they envited all former Wildcats in the NBA back to campus so they could work out and play some ball. Based on their salaries, I suspect a Lexington strip club was where they met rather than White Castle. I haven't heard about Calipari but his predecessor was well known in the private chanpagne rooms. Tubby spent many evenings there, usually financed by a well-healed booster.
Petino, on the other hand, in more discreet. He uses restaurants after they are closed to bang nutjobs.
I didn't want this thread to get too far off the mongering theme
