    Re: La Casona Dorada

As passing by the last couple of weeks, it looks like they are getting ready to open up the bar section that they were re-doing, don't think it is open as of yet, but the big window to the club that is on Independencia is covered now with a sheer white curtain, and looking in you can see the bar set-up and lounges in the club, looks like it will be a nice place once they open, hope they can attract some nice chicas to try it out. Looks more like a Lounge as opposed to a out and out disco, could be fun.

They are also promoting a Sunday brunch type of thing, big poster on the side street, advertising it saying IIRC, a seafood meal, sangria and few hours of swimming for I think it was 495 pesos, looks like a decent deal, never ate there, but according to Jimmy, their food is not bad, maybe one Sunday I will try it.
Why should I limit myself to only one woman when I can have as many women as I want?

I have never seen anyone at the place on danae, I will be stopping in next time because i remember the pool table being nicely felted. It might be a nice 'quiet' meetup place in the future.
Anastasia? If that is the name it is a lesbian bar. heck the only bar I can think of on danae was chara's place. Also a lesbian bar.

Casona Dorada was my main place to stay years ago. The bar used to always be dead but usualy had a cute barmaid or two. I used to live in ciudad nueva and they would let me use the pool as long as we ate lunch there. I am talking maybe 10 years ago.

I had heard that the Trio cafe people were trying to make a go with the disco there.

If it was on Delgado, it was probably Amazona. That the lesbian bar. I don't remember ANY bars on Danae..

Hmm. . .did amazona used to be called anasatzia or am I just forgetful in my old age.

There is definitely a bar on Danae. Coming up from independencia it is on right hand side close to the colmado. It is tucked back off the street a bit. Was called Charas place or similar. Lesbian bar, more than lesbian club

Yes Amazonia, sounds right and yes it's located on Delgado, close to Santiago side.

The bar you are talking about is still on Danae, close to the colmado, I think it was BigLongbeach that mentioned it in his thread, saying he wanted to try it out because he noticed a nice looking pool table in there, don't know the name but not the same one as the lesbian place on Delgado, I have never been in it, although I have passed it a few times, can't say one way or another if that one is also a lesbian bar. But don't think so.

James, stick up a pic of the restuarant menu that's outside Reception.

They've got a Lobstah dinnah for less than 400 pesos!!

Be careful if you are walking at night from the hotel to the Conde in the area of the cemetary. It's a real no mans land. Last year a drunk with a broken bottle approached me and a friend looking for money and 2 years ago a kid on a motorbike tried to grab my buddy's cell phone.

We usually just stay in this area at night.
