im getting about the same deal with spirit right now.

dtw to sti is 57 each way. 247 r/t after taxes. and then bus or cab to sosua.

i looked into the jet blue, its really about the same price for me, but getting dtw to jfk is more than the cost of getting from sti to sosua..

maybe i should just move to nyc so i can get better airfare rates !!!

Well I certainly can not lv on Tues 4/27 cause the GF and her friends will be in the same terminal and leaving for Bahamas the same time as me, so I am about to pull the trigger on 4/28 til Tuesday 5/5.

also the Jet Blue pricing from Orlando MCO to Santo Domingo and Montego Bay, Jamaica was super low to go and leave on Tues or Wed.......
was like $240R/T total for Montego Bay......and even less for Santo Domingo......unreal

I had to take advantage of the Jet Blue special Joeysterr put up. Hey, if u can change it up, do it. Would like to see you again, it has been almost 2 yr's!!! Come on, we can have a bachata contest!!!!

Spirit has a similar deal from Chicago to Santiago (and other US origin cities) - $56 o/w. With taxes and fees comes to $270 or something like that. And $9 fare club members get an extra $18 off listed fare. This is too good to pass my friends. Best American can do is $480 into POP, plus $50 baggage fees both ways. Fuck you AA LOL!

Pulled the trigger myself, April 6th to 14th. I have a college buddy who recently moved to Cabarete, I curse him everyday. He says (half jokingly), its my birthday on the 10th, why don't you swing by and celebrate with me on the beach. I says see you soon birthday boy!! Spirit itin, like JetBlue, is red-eye lover's delight. Flight arrives into STI at 2am, leaves STI at 3.30am. Bonus, I get back into Chicago just in time for my 9am meeting. I usually rent a car from the Alamo/National counter, which is the only rental vendor open at 2 in the morning. Mid-size cars are going for around $170 for a 6 day rental period. Another good deal! Drive to Sosua takes me about an hour, not a bad drive. Night drives are not recommended, but I do them anyway.
