Flying United from LAX-to POP for $774. I chose shortest duration so I have 1 hr in Newark and 2 hrs coming back. Prices are ridiculous this far out from the west coast. Glad I bought when I did.

If you're ready to fly in the next week or so, I think it's pretty good so far. $187 r/t to St Maarten?

If the 80% off holds true for all the flights then they'll probably be posting at least one sub-$250 fare to DR, maybe even under $200 (though the $140 in taxes & fees to DR make it tough)

    another note from JB today:

Here’s something to celebrate: We’re giving 5,000 bonus points to every TrueBlue member who purchases and flies three roundtrip JetBlue flights in 2013. It’s that easy. That’s 5,000 extra points to use toward any seat, anytime, on any flight operated by JetBlue. Period.

They will offer 80% off specials every day this week (from New York) at 12 noon to various destinations. Today it was Costa Rica, St Maartan and Florida.

Buuuuuuuuut, the flights depart on Monday through Wednesday. So this isn't a good special for the Weekend Warriors.

We'll see what the rest of the week looks like.

Re: 11/2006 - JET BLUE TO PUERTO PLATA - Current Sales

whats up guys. I been reading the info on the site, some helpful things on here. but i have a question...

I plan on travelling to D.R. leaving from JFK to POP 8/2/13-8/5/13, on the Jet Blue site i get a price of about $627 round trip. Is this the price i can expect to pay or may it be possible i can find a cheaper flight if wait a little longer. Any help would be appreciated

I would say keep READING this thread , and many other threads.. lots of good info here.. ALSO , you have plenty of time to maybe read up on and consider a Flight to STI, which can be as low as around $300..
you can then take a bus to Sosua for 200 pesos.. If you plan it out, its well worth it, and a lot more fun than just flying to POP at the higher Price.. You can also read about Taxi fares from STI to the Metro Bus station which run around 600-700 DP.. Also you are booking WAY to early if your dates are August. so you may even see a much lower price of around $400- $450... I would say $627 is too high, this early in the game but then we have seen fares as high as $900 to POP.. So if you absolutely can not chance it, then book at..

in general: if you have very specific dates you can travel, you're pretty much at their mercy price-wise. if you have to travel on a friday and/or monday, expect to pay more (they're generally the two most expensive days to travel).

NYC-POP should run you somewhere between $400-500 if you're at least somewhat flexible on your dates. Right now the price on the non-stops in August is ridiculous (tho you can get a one-stop on AA for $480). If you have to go in August, I'd wait to book. I can't see those price staying over $600 for the entire month, that's crazy.

But again, you picked the worst days to fly - and in Summer peak season, so that $482 on AA might be the best you'll get.

Keep in mind that those prices are each way (still good prices, though)
There's some other nice stuff on there too, like SJO for $310 r/t, SXM & CTG for $318 r/t and (for our florida guys) FLL-SDQ $226 r/t

Yes but there are black out dates and unless you are flexible with your travel and vacation time it might not be doable for a weekend warrior...

Out of curiosity I put in some dates and the $199 to POP was one way, and $400+ on the return. It even showed on the initial page that the $199 was ONE WAY, as opposed to the usual RT it'll show.
