Thumbs Down Passport must be in ''PRISTINE CONDITION'' to travel from MSP--MIA-- POP on AA!

Is this peculiar to MSP? Or does each airport, airline, and TSA make their on rules? -----------AA attempted to refuse my travel because a couple pages of pages of my passport were slightly folded(by 1/8''). The penalty was to refuse flight until I acquired a new passport. This was expensive plus would require nme to stay in a MSP hotel for a minimum of 7 nights! I protested and after 1/2 hour of secret bureaucratic crap, they allowed me to travel. But threatened me that POP may not allow me to enter the RD! POP allowed my entry without incident.

i got questioned in cuba why 2 pages were MISSING from my passport and i said they fell out and he just shrugged and away i went.

i used that passport for another 3 years travelling in and out of different countries over 70 more times and that was the only one who noticed it

Re: Passport must be in ''PRISTINE CONDITION'' to travel from MSP--MIA-- POP on AA!

    Timely thread.

I've noticed on my past 5 trips to POP they've really given me hell on my departure from POP, particularly this last trip. After the security checkpoint they literally went through my passport page by page. Then the guy said "you really travel alot." I said yeah, I do. An then he asked me why. I told him some guys like to play golf, some like to fish, I like to travel.

Then, when I got to the Immigration counter (which is, what, 10-12 feet further?) I had to go through the same old page by page check, and a million questions routine. I've been getting a bit bored with PP in the past year or so, and this is just helping me to reach some decisions I've delayed thinking about.

It's so fucked up, a lot of the times, the computer can't read it when they scan it through the reader. They have to manually enter my passport #'s. While I can always see how happy they are to do this (), they NEVER give me any grief over it!

I guess that means you are back "home." Hope your trip went well outside of the immigration crap. I hope the stable is still sound and no one accidently opened the gate while you were gone.

Incidently, I got the same treatment leaving POP on the last trip concerning the triple or quadruple takes on the passport. Not at one stop, but the two that are mentioned earlier. Even worse was the the guy at MIA that couldn't seem to get a grasp on the number of stamps I'd accumulated recently. With a slight smirk on my face, I had to answer a couple of times that "yes, I was there for pleasure."

I don't get this. After 5 trips this year, there was one time a guy at POP asked me a question about how many times I had been there this year. this was in June, my third trip. Guy in POP looks at my passport and asks..."Why have you been to the DR 3 times this year?" I look him dead in the eye and say "are you kidding me? You've seen the chicas you have here, shit...I know you like them as much as I do!!" He smiles at me, stamps my passport and say's "yeah, your right. We have beautiful women here!!"

The other time, I was passing through Miami. I had a guy at customs. He looks at my passport (as I'm wearing a bright yellow Presidente shirt). He ask's "why are you going down there so much? Are you bringing anything back?" I respond with "Have you been down there? They have beautiful "beaches". I love their "beaches". I'm bringing back this t-shirt, and maybe the clap. But I need to wait up to a week to see if I have the clap." He looks at me, smiles and say's "yes I've been there. I love their "beaches" too. That shirt hurts my eyes. Good luck with the clap thing. Been there, done that!" And I was through.

Going in and out of pop I talk to them like family before they have a chance to ask any questions and I roll right through. Jfk I roll right through but ewr customs always have that ignorant condescending look on their face when I'm arriving home and sometimes fuck with me. I just remain myself and shrug them off.

Cool Re: Passport must be in ''PRISTINE CONDITION'' to travel from MSP--MIA-- POP on AA!

Believe me. It is in good condition. I was shocked at the behavior of this eager, probable gay. But it must be normal procedure because the the forms and instructions were all previously prepared. Seriously, has anyone had problems in any USA city or airline?

only in foreign when I had left my passport in my back pants pocket and it had a bend in it...
what they need to do is get with the program and issue drivers license style cards for passports.......
which I think they do but you only can use them between Canada and the US........

    Wow!

I love fucking with the Customs officers. This might be a new one to try. "Are you bringing anything into this country?" "Nothing that some penicillin can't take care of!"

This is where you went wrong, imo
Stop being so negative , esp with gay dudes.. they are harmless & some of them will go out of their way to help you.
I have dudes like that eating out of my hands, esp on flights, I get free drinks , free pillow, extra snacks, soda, all kinds of stuff.. There is a certain way to talk to them, without coming off as gay too. All they want is to be accepted, if you are combative with them, they go ballistic, quit their jobs, and fucking slide down the Emerg chutes with a beer in their hands.
Just pretend they are 14 year old girls, give them a compliment, acknowledge their gayness, and they leave you the fuck alone..
I saw a dude who was combative get ESCORTED off the plane by security, just cause he was not talking NICE , and that was IMMEDIATE after the jet blue insident with the sliding down the chute guy, and ON jet blue..Them gay dudes just want to be accepted. Dont be fighting them for no reason.
Now I know where the "pristine condition" is coming from, that gay dude pulled that out his ass...just to fuck with you.
