Day three starts with breakfast and Emelia, my chica from the previous evening informs me that she has to visit her mama for mothers day so we head upstairs take care of some monkey business then off she goes telling me she’ll be back tonight. Finally, and here is where you guys can blast me, but FUCK YOU! I hold a 1000 bill in front of unpronounceable girls pussy and watch Yazi make the lamest of efforts at going down. I say “No.”
I show Yazi what I want to see and she reluctantly did the job. I then made the same offer to unpronounceable girl and she turned it down cold. Emelia shows up around ten and wants dinner. Interesting story. And I owe you thanks for writing about a few glitches that you have had--- because now I know I am not the only one who has been a bit perplexed about the chica soap opera that the cat house experience sometimes has in store for us. I sort of raised this issue in another forum, Mongering I am new at this-- Getting info on BB chicas. In there someplace I mention that maybe it is best to be a butterfly at those places, not to keep one chica too much. Maybe not even TLN. But I dunno, I'm just throwing the question out to see if other guys have been shafted by the chica network at these places, or if they have been cock blocked. It has sure happened to me, so I always end up back in the freelance scene. For sure the proprietors of these establishments need to be aware of this shit.

Sounds like you were travelling solo unless I am mistaken. I think us solo travellers have more trouble with this shit. Just an impression, can't say for sure. As I was people watching at BB and El Caucho it seemed to me that the chicas don't try to jerk around the guys who are with a crowd of their buddies. Perhaps because they see that the guy has a support system of his own just like the chicas do, perhaps because they know that management may be more pissed off if a whole group of guys gets dissatisfied than if it's just one loner, and then again perhaps it's all my imagination.

Perhaps I should elaborate on what I mean by 'perplexed'. I do fairly well these days in the freelance scene, that's where I am most at home. The establishment scene has me beat so far, I mean sex resorts and go-go's by this. This is bass-ackwards from what it should be, I mean the freelance scene is supposed to be fraught with problems whereas patronizing an establishment is supposed to cost more but be worth it because it is easier and hassle free. But so far I have found the opposite.

Go-go's in Thailand. A lot of them don't want guys who are 'butterflies'. Whaaaa? Do we go to these places to find Miss Right, with an engagement ring in our pocket?

I noticed at BB that some guys would only take girls ST, and would not return to the bar with them afterwards, and would not socialize with that girl when he came down later. I remember thinking, are these guys cheap or unsociable? They are neither, what they are is smart.

Actually in my last post I almost decided to cite your and El D's adventures as the perfect example of how a group of guys hitting a place is better off than the solo traveller. Guys have a lot of power that way that they may not realize if they haven't travelled a lot solo. Management pays more attention to what you say in a dispute. It is not just one guys word against a chica. The chicas know that they will not take control over a group. Their gossip will have less effect because what are the other chicas going to do, decide not to have anything to do with those 7 guys? You guys have more eyes and ears out there and are more likely to know what the hell the chicas are saying, what's going on. Hell, you guys are running the place. I am not complaining by the way, I am envious.

A solo traveller doesn't have it so easy. But here's the point. None of this would matter if these places didn't allow themselves to become soap operas, didn't allow the chicas to 'claim' a client, made sure all the girls are available, didn't allow cock blocking. I mean, why are the chicas there? Why are we there? Seems to me like they lose sight of their mission. Often it is said that those places are good for newbies and solo guys. I think they are not good for either category. Show up with a bud, at least, and the more buddies the better.

I am beating this to death but I'll give an example. A chica at BB who I kept for several days saw me drying out some slightly damp cigarettes that therefore had brown spots on them. They were the last of my brand, I would not toss them. She smells one, asks if it is weed. I say no, show her that it says Benson and Hedges, show her the FILTER for chissake. After that day I was getting very hard looks from the chicas and staff. On my next visit a while later one chica who I had nothing to do with walks up to me at the bar and asked if I do drugs, out of the blue, I say no and she walks back to the rocking chairs. This and some other unfounded bullshit ruined my stay, I left. If I had been in a group it would have gotten back to me that my chica had said that shit about me and I could have straightened it out at the start. Someone in the group would be a spanish speaker. As it was, later on, no one believed me. Only chica who will talk to me now is the one who shit on me. Like I said. Soap opera. It's too bad because I like to hang at those places, all I need is not to be fucked with, I am an easy going guy.

It's funny because the freelance scene is supposed to be the labor intensive option, but for me it's much, much easier.

Mackey, you make some excellent points there. One thing I'd like to add also is that we've been hearing reports that more and more guys are going there and are marrying the girls there. It appears to me that the girls now see every guy that comes there as a potential way out and are going to try to cling on to you like static.

Myself, I don't do TLN because I'm such a light sleeper, any kind of movement or nearby sound is going to wake me up (which is probably the main reason why I'll probably never get married) and I don't want them thinking I'm going to be with them for my entire stay. Both times that I was there I saw and heard the same situation where the guy said that he didn't intend on being with one girl but would up doing it anyway.

I think what needs to happen also is that many of the girls have been there a long time and maybe it's time for an entire new batch.

I have read those reports, seems to me that marrying them is going a bit too far, unless a guy wants to bring her back, which may not be a good idea as we all know. A monger in Thailand told me about a friend of his who had his new wife disappear on him---at the airport. He didn't even get her home. On the other hand I have often been told by expats that I have met that oftentimes the real stunners are not available for long, because an expat or retiree will soon grab her and move her in with him. One guy said to me that the real beauties often don't last a day, and someone has grabbed her already. Understandable. But marry them? Wow, I dunno bout that.

One monger in TL told me that if he finds a go-go with a lot of lookers he makes it clear at the outset that he is after them all, before the girls or the mamasan gets the idea that he belongs to any one girl. If I were to hit a new place that is how I would do it, learned it by watching the butterflies at BB, they were doing it right. I think because I kept one girl too long, when I got rid of her it was seen as a betrayal. I don't know if there is no second chance or anything, I was sort of shooting the breeze about it. But the expat who talked to me about it basically said that--- if she looks like the last winner of the Miss Dominicana beauty pageant, grab her now. He said that particular girl might have been moving in with a well to do expat that very afternoon, who knows? I know that I made the date for the next night because I was walking back from an MP, and didn't think I had any more action in me for that night.
