The Don Antonio is for the budget traveler. I stayed there half a night and bounced.

I stayed there for probably my last time during my August trip. You will not go wrong with the price and hospitality and location. The New Rooms are nice and security is tight. You want room #8. The New bar is really nice. Enjoy it for what it is.

I believe one time we were staying there at the same time in 2009 and I never met you. I am glad the new rooms and bar are finished. I will have to check it out again when I visit again.

The new restaurant has some photos on their facebook page.

I spent the last week of February there. 7 nights=$250 USD. I was in the 1st floor room next to the office. Decent WiFi signal in the room. Little by little the owner is rehabbing the rooms. I think the plan is to merge a couple of the rooms to suites. Maybe eliminating the kitchenettes in some of the units to open up the rooms a bit. Sorry, got sidetracked from taking photos of the room.

Hope to go back during the summer. Rocky's, Don Antonios and Sosua Suites are generally my choices...depending on duration and budget.

I stayed there in Jan and liked it very much. All new bathroom, good AC and a little well stocked kitchenette. Bed was comfortable. At $40, it is a real bargain. I had the corner unit closest to Rhumba, and I was not bothered by noise. Will stay there again.

Thanks. Sounds the same, but better than before. The only issue I had was early morning road noise from the highway, but I resolved that a day later by keeping the bathroom door closed at night. I'm used to the noise from the bars after a few stays at Sosua Suites and there's always some kind of noise in Sosua--it's part of the energy we go for.

Re: 08/2012 - Hotel Don Antonio

    This is where I'll stay.

Rick offered me a decent deal at Mary Rose, but still way over what Obe at Don Antonio quoted and I'm no the strip and have a kitchen. Good enough fro 5 nights. I just hope I don't have chicas that can only remember the name 'DON' like before and go to Don Manuel or other Don named hotels when it's time for our appointment.

I checked with Victoria House, but haven't heard back and I know it's more than what I want to pay.

anyone stay at don antonio lately? when i looked on the website it looks like they have done some remodeling and updating to their rooms. this was the first place i stayed on my first trip in 2009 so would be curious to know what it looks like now.

i remember there were guys who were on a military vacation from chile staying there at don antonio at the time.

Seville said a friend stayed there recently and was pleased with the new quality. I'm supposed to be getting a remodeled room.
