    $75 is insane! :vangry:

to get the bus from the airport you have to take a taxi to caribe tours at the bus terminal. 400-500 pesos. then get the next caribe tours bus to sosua (los charamicos) for about 80 pesos. when you get there catch a moto concho for about 20-30 pesos. total 500 to 610 pesos or about $20. it'll take you an hour or so longer than a direct taxi but will save you $50+.
When you can think of yesterday without regret and tomorrow without fear, you are near contentment.
Your opinions are not my problem...

I love reading your post. I'm in Brooklyn, NY and on my way to DR.

I don't have time to read all the post, tickets are getting more expensive everyday.

    I NEED HELP

    1. Prices are cheaper to fly to Santiago. Should I? or Puerto Plata
    2. Should I stop at Blackbeards? Only there for couple of days. Is it worth it?
    3. Best place in Sousa to stay.
    4. Layover in Puerto Rico (about 7 hours) - should I plan to do something or forget it.

post here and email me at spark2001usa@hotmail.com

I WANT TO BUY MY TICKETS TONIGHT.
1 many fly to santiago. i do. if it's a daytime flight it's easy to get a cab to the caribe tours bus at the bus terminal then take a bus to los charamicos and a moto or taxi to your hotel. others just take a taxi from the airport to the hotel but it's about $50-60 for the direct taxi vs 400 pesos taxi to the bus. 80- pesos for the bus and another 30 pesos for the motoconcho to the hotel. much easier to take a taxi but eats up the savings quickly. the taxi/bus/moto route is only about500-600 pesos or 1/3 the price but not too simple if you have never done it before.

2 BB's is reported to be a great place. well worth your effort if interested.

3 for a first time monger i'd recommend the Palace or the Europa

4 forget planning for action on a short layover in PR. bring a book

Thanks for the advice. THe bus/moto combination sounds interesting. But lugging my bags on a motorcyle? I dont' know about that

Freak...bring luggage. If your trip is longer than a couple of days, you will frustrate yourself trying to pack all your stuff in a backpack...unless you have an ENORMOUS backpack!!

I'm landing on Friday at noon at Santiago on 8/26 and leaving on Monday at 4pm from Puerto Plata on 8/29.

Not many days, and now I am thinking I should have booked longer.
But just started a new job and am taking Friday and Monday off.

I dont' want to take too much advantage.

I'm hoping my wisdom gained from you O.G's will allow me to have maximum fun.

I just need to purchase my Vitamin V (will be my first time) and get a good schedule going.

Will do. (I need to buy a digital camera - something good but inexpensive in case of damage to it. I also need to get a laptop...I am on a loaner so can't upload or download pics)

Also...What is the best Vitamin V site? You can reply as a pm is you want. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to know.

    Freak_in_Black,

The site I sent you for Vitamin V or C is 100% reliable I use it every time I am going to DR just in case I need a extra bounce. Although I have found that getting Yohimbi from GNC gives the same boost as vitamin V.
