Dominican long distance swimmer Marcos Diaz was inducted to the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame yesterday, Monday 24 September.

Founded in 1961, the organization honors individuals who have distinguished themselves in the world of open water swimming.

Marcos Diaz and others in the IMSHOF Class of 2012 joined 220 other members of the group of aquatic adventurers. The others honored this year were Chris Green (Great Britain), Maarten van der Weijden (Netherlands), Larisa Ilchenko (Russia), David Parcells (USA) who were also voted into the IMSHOF as Honor Swimmers.
