Venezuela is on my watch list too. A friend of mine is supposed to be moving to Curacao in the Spring and if so I will visit there and then take the ferry to Ven.

You are right about there not being much intel on Ecuador....a little... but not much. I'm not going there primarily for mongering. It is just a country that has intrigued me for a long time and I'm going to go and check it out. Of course I'm always scouting for chicas wherever I go and I know I'll find some there too...just don't know how many, or what quality.

I'll try to give some reporting by late August.

I know a dude who lives in Pattaya 8 months out of the year- nice to know an "ex-pat" while overseas.
But, 22hrs fly time and little to no vacation time make this a long-term goal

Looks like I voted for Colombia although I have no plans at all to go there. One day when Jimmy insists, perhaps.

I am seriously considering a week in Jamaica and 2 weeks or so in Thailand...or perhaps I'll skip Jamaica and go for 3 weeks in Thailand. I guess it all depends on work. If I get 4 weeks paid it's a no brainer and it it's only 3, so be it although I will make it a conditional on being able to "buy" another week, or 2, so anything is possible!

Then the rest of Central and South/Latin America and the Philippines and perhaps some other Asian destinations. After that I may have to work on my Russian...The World is still a big place to explore!

Only intel i have on Ecuadorians is other South Americans saying they are BY FAR the stingiest people you will ever come across. I had an Ecuadorian guy work with me for some time and he was the nicest guy you could ever meet but you speak to other Latinos and their eyes bug out of their heads when describing how stingy Ecuadorians are.

It has been my dream to go to pattaya thailand. A 20 hour plane ride is a killer for me, so forget that. Next in line is: Negril, St.Maarten, Medellin. Let my dreams become true.

I just pulled the trigger on Jamaica for 2011. I still will go back to the DR, but I also wanted to try a new place in the Caribbean. Remembering all of Rocko's posts on Negril, I decided to give it a go.

Booked a flight for March from Sacramento to Montego Bay for $527 all in. The DR at that time is nearly $300 more on the airfare. I booked a room at the SeaStar for $49 a night. And that is high season!

I'll be there from March 4-12. It wouldn't hurt my feelings any if a few ISOC'ers decided to come on down at that time and have a Red Stripe or 10 at one of those beach bars! I can only imagine what the female situation is like in Negril. I will be anxious to find out!
