Former Vice President Rafael Alburquerque was honored by the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) yesterday, Tuesday 25 September when a symposium being held on labor law was given his name as recognition of his contributions to the field. During the inauguration ceremony, Alburquerque gave a talk on "Labor Appeals" before an audience of labor judges, specialists and graduate students in the field of Labor Law. Lawyer Hector Arias Bustamante, a PUCMM professor, introduced Alburquerque and highlighted the achievements of his work in the field. Alburquerque's list of professional accomplishments includes stints at the International Labor Organization, special envoy of the secretary general of the ILO, Minister of Labor, and founder of the PUCMM Law School.
