Following accusations from certain deputies that the Senate is shelving some projects, the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, Abel Martinez and Reinaldo Pared Perez, have given assurances that there are no problems between the two chambers, and that any issues that have arisen are simply routine.

They said that each of the chambers had to carry out their respective roles in studying the bills before them and that they would meet next Tuesday to try and reestablish the harmony which should exist in the National Congress.

They said that they agreed that there had been problems on some occasions due to the system but at the same time they opposed the proposal put forward by Senator Julio Cesar Valentin for one single chamber, pledging to work together to improve the situation.
