An increase in the tolls of the highways leading north and to the southwest is imminent. In the meantime, Dovicon, the new highway maintenance concessionaire has announced in a paid advertisement that as of 22 June 2012 it has been operating the Center for Control and Operation (CCO) of the highways, providing services to road users. The highway assistance, tow service and Red Cross ambulance services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Travelers on these roads can also call for assistance with flat tires, spark plugs, or for being caught with an empty fuel tank, electrical problems in the vehicle, or flat batteries. The CCO says that it is permanently patrolling the highways, ensuring prevention and notification about obstacles on the road, coordination to reduce circulation of animals, immediate assistance in the case of traffic accidents, and coordination with AMET officials. The assistance is part of the Viadom Project. To receive assistance, users should call 809 200-0234, a telephone number worth adding to one's contact list.
